This article presents an outline of a strategy of an effective management of data in cyberspace in the era of Web 2.0. The basic rules for the utilization of hard-to-get and unique data are presented and the architecture of participation, one of the leading catchphrases of Web 2.0 is discussed. This concept allows for the integration of cyberspace data. The practical applications introduced by Amazon.com and Flickr.com helped illustrate the pattern of "Data as the Next Intel Inside", another leading idea of the second incarnation of the WWW. Last but not least, the five identified strategies allowed to refer to the issue of data ownership in contemporary cyberspace.

Mieszkańcy współczesnych miast często ulegają wrażeniu, że otaczające ich środowisko urbanistyczne jest dla nich niezrozumiałe i że nie mają na nie żadnego wpływu. Tymczasem zagadnienia wiedzy o otoczeniu (cognition) oraz możliwość oddziaływania na nie (competence) są od wielu lat tematem badań naukowców, jako istotne problemy rzeczywistego funkcjonowania miasta. Termin "świadomość" (cognition) obejmuje nie tylko już posiadaną wiedzę, ale także wszelką aktywność człowieka w kierunku poznania i zrozumienia danego obiektu, środowiska lub zdarzenia. Tego typu aktywność stanowi według wielu teoretyków jeden z głównych motorów za-chowań ludzkich'. "Kompetencja" (competence) w tym znaczeniu oznacza zdolność reakcji organizmu na otaczające go środowisko; w dużej mierze polega na możliwości wywierania wpływu na to środowisko (zarówno socjologiczne, jak i fizyczne). Naukowcy podkreślają iż prawidłowy rozwój osobowości nie może obyć się bez tego typu zachowań.

The contemporary urban environment could be difficult or even impossible to understand for most of its inhabitants. Investigations conducted by scientists during the last fifty years concerning such negative consequences as frustration, phenomenon of anonymity and alie-nation, appreciate the significance of understanding the built environment (knowing) and people's capacity to interact effectively with it (cognition). The creative use of colour in the architectural environment can provide some solutions to the problems. The ideas and methods developed by the architecture of participation employ the activities and creative power of inhabitants. Many examples of successful projects (e.g. Byker Estate by R. Erskinc, activity of STERN organisation in Germany, recent ..Hanover Experiment" by Lindencr Baukan-tor) confirm that colour planning is one of the most important points of the urban participation. Simultaneously, complex projects of colour improving in urban environment undertaken by Michael Lancaster in Great Britain always include presentation of the project by public exhibition and implementation procedures, which take place through agreement and local participants. The paper refers to the colour conservation study of the small seaside town of Ilfracombc by M. Lancaster.
