The following work describes the application of a mathematical model based on Markov chain theory (MM) to estimate the fiber composite strength parameters, taking into account the laminate forming aspects using the vacuum bag method. This provides, from a unified position, a tool for a coordinated description of static strength and fatigue life. It was shown that the MM model gives relatively good results.

One of the most critical systems for a ship operation is the diesel generator set. This is why the ship preserves four different diesel generators except the power battery packs. The paper describes the generator operation and the main failure conditions. Assuming that the failure rate of the system parts is constant the paper shows how the diesel generator system could be modelled in the context of Markov theory.

Procesy decyzyjne podejmowane w trakcie eksploatacji są oparte na analizie różnego rodzaju danych. Jednym z możliwych podejść do tej analizy jest zastosowanie teorii prawdopodobieństwa do predykcji czasu pracy lub awarii urządzeń elektroenergetycznych. Artykuł prezentuje modele matematyczne, wykorzystujące teorię procesów losowych Markowa oraz przykłady ich zastosowań w wybranych zagadnieniach eksploatacyjnych.

Decision processes taken during an exploitation of power electrical devices are supported by analysis of different technical data. One of possible ways to make this analysis is use the probability theory to predict working time or/and moment of failure. The article presents mathematical models based on Markov random processes theory. It also shows examples of adoptions of these models in some exploitation issues.
