In Moroccan family SMEs, a critical managerial challenge emerges the disparity between the latent potential for CSR adoption and the barriers encountered in practice. This paper aims to investigate the perceptions, drivers, and barriers that hinder CSR practices within this context. By delving into these intricacies, the present research seeks not only to explore but also to provide valuable insights to family SMEs and policymakers that can bridge the gap and contribute to effective CSR integration. Thus, qualitative and exploratory approach was conducted based on face-to-face interviews with 10 Moroccan family firm CEOs and owners. The results reveal that family SMEs in Morocco are characterized by informal, spontaneous, and unconscious CSR practices. They perceive several motives and outcomes to CSR adoption on both firm and family levels. However, some barriers to CSR adoption were identified, including the firm size, financial resources, the perception of CSR as optional rather than mandatory, and a predominant focus on compliance rather than proactive engagement. Resistance to change was also observed, underscoring the importance of raising awareness and fostering support and guidance to family SMEs. Exploring the perceptions about the factors that impede or facilitate the adoption of CSR in an emerging context such as Morocco offers valuable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers interested in promoting sustainable and responsible business practices within the family SMEs of Morocco.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been forming very dynamically and intensively for several decades. The rapid development, as well as the relatively large scope of this concept, which is cross-sectionally related to a number of different social disciplines, so far causes a very significant terminological inconsistency. The paper focuses on the relationship between CSR and the financial performance of companies, or on the positive consequences of applying the concept of CSR in business on the example of a selected company Deutsche Telekom AG, which applies CSR in its business and which achieves positive results not only from this point of view, but also from the point of view of company profitability. When analyzing the company from the point of view of the global market, it quantitatively monitors the impact of the measured indicators on the profitability of total assets (ROA) and on net profit, by testing the basic assumptions made on the classical linear regression model. The main goal of the paper was to find out the impact of CSR on the financial results of the parent company Deutsche Telekom AG for the period 2001-2021 and to find the relationship between CSR and economic benefits.
Purpose: The aim of this paper is to present a new model for risk assessment of unfavorable interorganizational relationships, among other things, in ventures classified as corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects. Design/methodology/approach: Scenario analysis, brainstorm sessions, literature study and own observations of interorganizational projects were used to develop a list of unwanted events and factors determining their occurrence. In the proposed risk assessment model, fault tree analysis and fuzzy logic were applied for qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. Thanks to applying the elements of fuzzy sets theory, it was possible to decrease the uncertainty and lack of precision in obtaining crisp values of the basic events’ probability. Findings: In this work 13 basic events and 41 risk factors determining occurrence of unfavorable interorganizational relationships in ventures were identified and described. The proposed model enabled to carry out qualitative and quantitative risk assessment of unfavorable interorganizational relationships projects. Its practical application was shown in an example of interorganizational CSR project concerning the organization of a mass event, considering its logistics aspects. Research limitations/implications: It is necessary to involve experts in risk assessment. This could be overcome by applying machine learning in future research. Practical implications: The application of the proposed model allows to effectively identify the critical risks, which should be of particular attention during the risk treatment stage. It aims to give a helping hand to all managers and practitioners who want to deliver attainable and successful interorganizational projects, supporting meeting the expectation of the engaged stakeholders. Social implications: Socially responsible activities contribute to solving and counteracting social problems. Originality/value: A novel risk assessment model of unfavorable interorganizational relationships in which 13 basic events and 41 risk determinants were considered. The model was presented at ventures classified as Corporate Social Responsibility projects.

Purpose: Nowadays, socially responsible management is the response to constant changes taking place in the world. As a result of these changes, the role of organizations, which must take into account the effects of their business activities in the specific social and natural environment, is re-developing. The concept of CSR, combining sustainable principles of development with economic, environmental and social aspects, turns out to be useful in these activities. In all the EU countries, the MSME sector constitutes the most numerous group of business organizations. The main research problem of this article is to identify and assess the determinants of socially responsible management in the MSME sector. Design/methodology/approach: In 2018, a survey was conducted, included in the quantitative research, and the obtained data were subjected to the analysis with statistical methods (CAWI). The objective of the research was to analyse the determinants of socially responsible management in MSME enterprises operating in the area of the Silesian Voivodeship. Findings: The research conducted on a research sample of MSMEs in the Silesian Voivodeship, which is the most numerous group of business organizations in the EU, enabled the identification of the main determinants of socially responsible management. All the internal and external determinants affect socially responsible management in the sector of the surveyed MSME to a greater or lesser extent. Originality/value: The value of the paper is research on the concept of CSR in a group of MSMEs. The results are mainly directed to people managing enterprises from the MSME sector.

The objective of this article is an attempt to present the results of the research into practices of corporate social responsibility in management processes of contemporary enterprises located in southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship. Design/methodology/approach: The empirical research was conducted on the basis of anonymous data obtained from the surveys.

The shift of production to poverty-stricken countries is accompanied by an approach focusing on making fashion trends available quickly and cheaply to consumers and a demand-driven manufacturing system in the apparel industry. This paper explores Polish consumers’ awareness, attitude, ethical behaviors and the way of perceiving the quality of „fast fashion” products in Social Responsibility perspective. A Polish consumer survey based on CAWI and PAPI methodology was done. Consumers declaring “fast fashion shopping behavior” were considered. Surveyed consumers are willing to consider the CSR activities of “fast fashion” brands, the price is the most important factor when making purchase decision. The assessment of consumer awareness in the field of CSR can be used to guide future public education activities in this area, especially in the era of accelerated consumption and sustainable development goals. Research results can also be a premise to determine the direction of activities related to CSR for “fast fashion” retailers.
The senior management of several luxury fashion businesses proclaim a commitment to sustainability and an engagement in all CSR categories. However, how is this projected in the lower levels of management, i.e. do ‘low-level’ managers exercise their marketing and innovations tasks in a manner compatible with the proclaimed CSR? An investigative pioneering case study of the attitude of the low-level management of top luxury fashion businesses in Prague reveals that their marketing and innovation endeavours have very little in common with the CSR strategies and priorities set officially for the business. The comparative holistic Meta-analysis of three rounds of interviews points to critical problems generated by both systematic and individual deficiencies of the lower level managers that lead to their reduced knowledge and/or interest towards linking the marketing and innovation functions with CSR commands. This new discovery of the asymmetry of the attitude to marketing and innovations has strong implications for management research at the academic level, as well as for the practical drive for a more effective and efficient management. In this paper, the 1st objective identified rather a satisfactory attitude of owners and senior managers, but the 2nd investigative objective showed that low-level management often has a reduced knowledge and/or interest in linking the marketing and innovation functions with CSR best practice. The differences across even the same groups, as well as other intrinsic data proposed with respect to the 3rd objective suggest that the causes for such a deplorable situation are both systematic and individual. The consequences include a loss of clientele. It is amazing that luxury fashion businesses with such developed CSR statements and advertised marketing and innovation actions linked to basically all CSR categories have front-line employees, including managers, who do not share such commitments, and, instead, excessively go into auxiliary aspects and ultimately frustrate CSR approaches.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept is focused on understanding and managing the impacts a company has on the world around it and doing so as a part of core business activities. The common practice of most organizations is to implement a quality management system (mostly according to ISO 9001), and then implement other management systems. Companies in the Czech Republic have the possibility of certification of CSR via the Czech standard CSN 01 0391:2013 which corresponds to the structure and requirements of other ISO standards. The article analyses common elements of both standards. The output is a proposal of the process of parallel implementation of these two management systems into a newly established organization.
Increasing globalization, unplanned industrialization, and unethical industrial practices have created enormous environmental and social problems. Sustainable development has the potential to handle these problems. Nowadays, environmental and social sustainability are no more considered as voluntary activities to the company. However, these are the needs of the society and human being to survive in the earth. This paper discusses the issues pertaining implementation of sustainability in the global supply chain. The philosophical need of carrying out business from totally profit oriented to sustainable is discussed in this paper. The paper also discusses various operational and strategic issues for implementing sustainability. We conjecture that environmental footprint and social obligations must be monitored beyond the boundary of the country. Environmental footprint and social sustainability should be monitored at each level to make a global supply chain sustainable.
