Purpose: To establish underlying issues that have hindered the implementation of smart mobility systems in Cape Town. Design/methodology/approach: This article review is based on a theoretical literature review on the idea of mobility and smart City in Cape Town, South Africa. The theoretical approach was based on published journals, government sources, and other sources. Findings: Smart mobility is one of the developmental strategies of this City with a focus on enhancing the existing transport system. This will help improve commuter transfer speed and the overall quality of life. However, the current transport systems have greatly undermined commuter experience, leading to traffic congestion, high transport costs, air and noise pollution, and generally low quality of life. This has had a significant negative impact on the local inhabitants' economic, social, and psychological. The government has also lost revenue due to frequent maintenance, vandalism, and an underutilized transport system. Originality/value: the presented review paper provides a realistic overview of the issues affecting the local government and residents of Cape Town. These issues directly affect the national government and, therefore, there is a need to change the underlying transport structures to ensure that Cape Town meets its smart mobility goals.

Table Mountain is the symbol of Cape Town in South Africa. Geologically, it has a specific, very characteristic form. This is a natural phenomenon, so it deserves a detail presentation due to its geological development. Table Mountain is the northern fragment of a mountain chain of the southern part of the Penninsula of Good Hope. Table Mountain displays a flat, wide-spread top area and steep slopes. The geological structure of the mountain comprises the erosion-resistant Ordovician quartz sandstones that lie on strongly folded Precam- brian mica schists of the Malmesbury Group, very susceptible for weathering. Other morphological culminations are represented by Signal Hill and Lion's Head, which are built of schists and sandstone-covered granites, respectively. The slopes are gentle. The variability of the geological structure ofthe Cape Town region is a result ofprocesses ofweathering and erosion of differently resistant old rocks uplifted to the surface by tectonic movements. The hard and very resistant granites and sandstones form hills and mountains that surround Cape Town, while the relatively soft schists build flat areas as Cape Flats. The granites on the surface display oval shapes, that is the result ofexfoliation weathering.

Podczas zwiedzania Kapsztadu najkorzystniejszą formą komunikacji są autobusy turystyczne, które kursują pomiędzy głównymi atrakcjami miasta. Turyści mogą wsiadać i wysiadać w dowolnym miejscu.

The most convenient means of transport while visiting Cape Town is getting around the town by tour bus. Tour buses in Cape Town shuttle regularly between major attractions of the town. Tourists can hop on and hop off at any bus stop they like. In May 2010, shortly before the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which took place in South Africa, an integrated electronic platform MyCiTi was implemented. Since then, passengers have gained access to current timetables and routes of buses, and got additional information about transport in Cape Town, which has turned out to be a significant convenience for them. Passengers can choose between four main colour coded tours: red, blue, yellow and purple. They can also transfer to another bus at transport nodes, which enables them to reach all tourist attractions in Cape Town. Moreover, there is possibility of buying day tickets or two-day tickets and taking a cruise which constitutes a great attraction in the offer of Citysightseeing company in Cape Town.
