BIM (Building Information Modeling) to technologia będąca coraz częściej używana w branży budowlanej.

BIM (Building Information Modelling) is a technology that is increasingly used in the construction industry. The idea is to use the digital information developed throughout the life cycle of a building. A form of making the communication in processes more flexible (free of native formats) is the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) format developed by the building SMART organisation. From a geodetic point of view, the most important elements to be shared by IFC are issues related to spatial location (georeferencing) and geometric representation. This paper focuses on the first of these issues, more specifically on the verification of georeferencing using the Python. The outcome of the work is a prototype of an application to automatically verify the geo-referencing level of IFC files.

Dojrzałe stosowanie BIM zmienia podejście do realizacji procesu inwestycyjnego. Pozytywne doświadczenia przedsiębiorstw doprowadziły do promowania metodyki BIM w zamówieniach publicznych przez niektóre państwa. W artykule dokonano przeglądu przykładów implementacji BIM w zamówieniach publicznych w państwach europejskich o różnym stopniu rozwoju gospodarczego. W Polsce trwają dyskusje na temat wprowadzenia obligatoryjności stosowania BIM w zamówieniach publicznych. Jednym z efektów przeprowadzonych prac było stworzenie tzw. Mapy drogowej dla wdrożenia metodyki BIM w zamówieniach publicznych. Jednakże konieczne jest podjęcie dalszych konkretnych działań wprowadzających realne zmiany.

At the beginning of the first decade of the 21st century, the fourth industrial revolution began, which is based on working with previously unprecedented amounts of data, which ultimately enables the digitization and integration of systems and processes. The above-mentioned changes are also implemented in the construction industry, which translates directly into the development of new innovative solutions aimed at improving selected parameters of the investment and construction process. This article presents the possibilities of implementing the following technologies in the area of occupational health and safety on construction sites: BIM, i.e. building information modeling, cloud services and mobile technologies, artificial intelligence, with particular emphasis on predictive analytics, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality, robotization, unmanned aerial vehicles and exoskeletons, 3D printing, Big Data;, Digital twins. The analysis carried out made it possible to identify the fields that are already ready for wide implementation, and which areas are potential areas that can be implemented in order to improve health and safety conditions in the implementation of construction contracts.
W artykule przedstawiono studium przypadku wybranego modelu BIM, stosując szereg narzędzi cyfrowych, zintegrowano model BIM z danymi GIS. Przedstawiony schemat postępowania może zostać zastosowany w dowolnym innym przypadku dzięki zastosowaniu otwartego standardu IFC.

Designers in the BIM process use a wide range of available applications to meet their specific needs. The interoperability of BIM provides the opportunity to use multiple solutions that work together to a greater or lesser extent. To this end, designers use the so-called ‘ecology of tools’ to find the most convenient way to combine often separate processes. This paper presents a case study of a selected BIM model, using a range of digital tools to integrate the BIM model with GIS data. The workflow presented can be applied to any other case study by using the open standard IFC.

BIM is conceived and understood differently depending on the profession and industry. As a technology, process or methodology, it is becoming an everyday part of the work of many engineers who deal with space. Hundreds of thousands of current and future representatives of the broadly defined construction industry (AECOO), which accounts for roughly 1/10 of Poland’s GDP, are educated in the formal education process in full-time, part-time, postgraduate or doctoral programmes. BIM-related knowledge is imparted in various fields of study. Many publications mention the topic of BIM in education. However, they focus their attention on - WHAT to teach. This is undoubtedly very important, yet it is often forgotten HOW important it is to convey this knowledge. This paper undertook an in-depth literature review of the content of teaching BIM theory and practice and the ways in which it is taught. The aim of the paper was to synthesise the latest trends in BIM didactics and present the latest methods and techniques for experiential learning. The good practices presented in the paper can be used by a wide spectrum of didacticians: university teachers, trainers or BIM managers. The previous form of monologue lectures must be abandoned in favour of interactive problem-formulating lectures. Labs or projects, on the other hand, should become a place for problem-solving and pushing the limits of BIM maturity to date. The presenter should create a friendly learning space which, combined with skilful facilitation, will lead to creative concept formation, discovery or breaking through existing dogmas.

The main goal of the article is to describe the 5D BIM model of a post-tensioned concrete bridge being part of an expressway on the example of an ongoing construction. A method (a pattern) of monitoring of work progress as well as collecting the data (with relevant elements of coding of the collected data) and transferring it to the designers for the purpose of updating the model was developed while verifying the completed construction phases, the time schedule, the usage of materials and resources, including the expenses. The research confirmed incompatibility, also observed elsewhere in the construction sector, between the general contractor’s and the designer’s models . The article contains conclusions and practical examples of introducing the BIM methodology to design and construction of infrastructural objects while accounting for the construction site’s realities.

The investment and construction process in Poland is undergoing a profound digitalisation. BIM is being used in many phases and at various stages of this process. In both the academic and business spheres, the term ‘building information model’ is often used. We can hear the phrases ‘data pipelines’, ‘information stuffing’, ‘structured data’, ‘open data exchange standards’, etc. In many cases, the terms ‘data’ and ‘information’ are used interchangeably without considering their meaning in the context of BIM. This confusion sometimes leads to cognitive errors or communication problems. Regardless of the role of the individuals involved in processes where BIM is used (be it designer, developer, or manufacturer), clear understanding of both concepts and the associated standards is essential. In this article, an in-depth review of the literature regarding the application and significance of both terms is carried out. They are presented in a specific case study to enhance the understanding of their definitions. The importance of norms and standards is also emphasized, as they provide clear guidance on how to work with data and information in the context of BIM.

In project processes, group collaboration and project documentation management are important aspects. In order for the cooperation of all project participants to be effective, it should be based first and foremost on adequate and effective communication. All project participants should use such solutions so that they can exchange, manage and combine information quickly and efficiently throughout the entire investment process, thus providing a complete picture of the situation. To this end, it is necessary to develop a catalogue of good practices supported by a variety of examples, as well as rules for group cooperation when using a CDE-type solution. The aim of this article was to show the advantages and benefits as well as the disadvantages and limitations in group collaboration when working on a single BIM model.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process of generating 3D models based on object databases. They are made for various types of buildings, sites and objects, and their task is to represent all the structural and architectural features of the object using parametric models. The BIM technology involves the preparation of the model that is already at the design stage of the building, in such a way that it is used during conceptual and implementation works, as well as during its final operation. However, a BIM model of existing objects can also be generated. Historic buildings are a special group of objects The HBIM (Heritage Building Information Modeling) model is used not only as an inventory of the object in its current state, but also as a background and a tool for visualising the object in its restored state, or as a source of information about the building itself for conservation, renovation and documentation purposes. Such a model can be created based on various types of source data. The basis for the development of the BIM model can be formed by data acquired during the inventory of the facility using surveying methods, laser scanning and photogrammetry. This paper presents the process of data acquisition of a historic object using the example of Lamus Dworski with the use of TLS and UAV. The study also includes the process of HBIM modeling of the object using point clouds as well as photographic documentation and data recorded in the monument card.
Landscape information modeling (LIM) is a new trend in spatial projects made using BIM technology. Elements of land development are, not only in the opinion of the authors, just as essential as the element of a building object. In turn, GIS data can be used to model larger areas based on combined data from GIS and BIM models. The lack of the strict integration of BIM and GIS (ISO/TR 23262:2021 covers GIS/BIM interoperability, ISO 19166 is in preparation) prevents the modeling of land development objects, both existing and planned, in many cases. The modeling process using the current and known BIM tools and processes were presented to efficiently develop a model of a building object with its surroundings. Modeling took place using best practices that are collected and used in the Polish reality. The work presents an object-oriented approach to modeling elements of spatial development with the preservation of the so-called occupational hygiene. By applying the above principles, it is possible to develop a “good” LIM model that fits the current trends and developments in BIM.
