The topis of education is often superseded by business, mainly because business is associated with rapid technological advancement and often brings lucrative profits. Perhaps this is why significant paradigm changes in the education field take place only during crises or exceptional situations that force a change of the current approach. So it was this time, that the pandemic of covid- 19 revealed how much education systems are not enough adapted to the technologically changing world. The main goal of the article is to present a general overview of the process of digitalization in the higher education field. The introduction part highlights the importance of today's education. The second part of the article describes the characteristic of digitalization in the context of education. The third section indicates the potential and risks of digitalization. The next part of the article points out the use of digitalization in the didactic process.

Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień kompetencji miękkich w obszarze IT współczesnych organizacji. Obecnie praktyka zarządzania jest nierozerwalnie związana z dynamicznie rozwijającymi się technologiami informatyczno-komunikacyjnymi i rosnącym, zróżnicowanym zapotrzebowaniem na dostęp do stale zmieniających się kompetencji technologicznych. Nie budzi wątpliwości teza, że nastąpił wzrost zapotrzebowania na specjalistów z tego typu kompetencjami (kompetencjami twardymi/technologicznymi). W rozważaniach natomiast podjęto próbę obrony hipotezy, że dla specjalistów IT kompetencje miękkie stają się równie potrzebne obok umiejętności technologicznych.

The article deals with the issues of soft competences in the IT area of modern organizations. Currently, management practice is inseparably connected with dynamically developing information and communication technologies and growing, diversified demand for access to constantly changing technological competences. There is no doubt that the demand for specialists with this type of competence has increased (hard/technological competencies). On the other hand, the attempt was made to defend the hypothesis that for IT professionals soft skills become equally necessary alongside technological skills.

The article presents the intercultural competences of managers in international organizations, specifically in relation to the dynamic development of the globalization process. The global economy and the internationalization of management set new standards in the development of managerial skills. The ongoing globalization process is one of the most important factors affecting the organizational behaviour of managers in international organizations. First of all, the new dimension of the modern manager is the “global mind”, flexible towards cultural diversity, constantly improving their intercultural competence

Obecnie umiejętności menedżerskie definiowane są w znacznej mierze przez procesy globalizacyjne. Poszukiwanie skutecznych formuł reagowania na nowe wyzwania prowadzi do wyznaczania nowych standardów w zakresie rozwoju umiejętności menedżerskich, które pozwolą na sprawne funkcjonowanie w ramach międzykulturowego obszaru zarządzania. Pojawia się coraz silniejsze przekonanie o tym, że wobec skali zmian konieczne jest włączenie w proces doskonalenia kompetencji zawodowych umiejętności radzenia sobie w środowisku odmiennym kulturowo. Przyszłość należy do organizacji działających globalnie, tworzonych przez menedżerów zorientowanych na transnarodowy aspekt zarządzania. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie potrzeby zmiany profilu kompetencji menedżera, myślącego i działającego globalnie, elastycznego wobec kulturowej różnorodności, nieustannie doskonalącego swoje kompetencje międzykulturowe. Przedstawione rozważania oparto na analizie literatury, analizie porównawczej oraz logice wnioskowania.
