In this paper the authors has presented methodology of determination of control stage wheel thrust force basing on 0D and 3D models. One has determined portion of particular thrust force components acting on shroud, airfoil and rotor disc. The authors has also presented radial distribution of static pressure acting on the rotor disc (with usage of 3D tools). One must emphasize that 0D model (checked by ALSTOM) was correct source of boundary conditions for 3D analysis. The 3D model contained forces from pressure drop (and pressure distribution around the airfoil), velocities and flow resistance (fluid viscosity). The analysis was made in variable operating conditions (5 valve points).
