One of the aims of the work was the literature review concerning the origin of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ecosystem parts, their influence on organisms and methods of the limitation of PAH emission. In the experimental part, the selection of PAH from coal pitches, obtained by pyrolisis, was done. On the basic of IR and NMR spectroscopy it was proved that the conditions of pyrolisis affected PAH.
