Student scientific organizations and research groups create numerous opportunities for the development of interests and passions related to many fields of science. In case of geological sciences, student research groups are organizations which are conducive to exchanging first scientific ideas between young geologists and experienced researchers. These associations constitute also a generational bridge between students and their teachers. The beginnings of the firstformal organizations of geology students date back to the second halfof the 1940s and 1950s. Due to the nature of geological studies, membership in scientific circles, is associatedfrom the beginning of their activities with many research trips and participation in conferences. This paper aims at presenting the history and contemporary activity of geological student research groups in Poland. We describedfive organizations, whose activities constitute an integral part of geological studies in our country. Authors wish to remind distinguished teachers and members of student research groups, who contributed to their development in a special way.

W artykule przedstawiono historię powstania i przebieg prac konstrukcyjnych samochodu Polonez Analog z napędem 4x4. Idea budowy takiego pojazdu pojawiła się w latach 90. ubiegłego wieku. Prace projektowe i budowa prototypów były prowadzone we współpracy FSO z Politechniką Warszawską. W samochodzie wykorzystano podzespoły samochodu Polonez, wprowadzając jednoczesnie ramę podłużnicową, niezależne przednie zawieszenie, a w zawieszeniu tylnym zastępując resory piórowe sprężynami. Układ napędowy zapewniał stały napęd kół przednich i dołączany napęd kół tylnych. Zbudowane prototypy miały nadwozie typu truck z 5 osobową kabiną i skrzynią ładunkową. Po przejęciu FSO przez koncern Daewoo projekt został zarzucony.

In the paper a history of research and development of the car Polonez Analog with 4WD is presented. An idea of constructing such a vehicle appeared in the nineties of the last century. The project was realized in cooperation between FSO factory and Warsaw University of Technology. In the car some components of production version of Polonez was used. The car was equipped with a ladder frame, an independent front suspension McPherson type and coil springs instead of leaf springs in the rear suspension. Drive train realized constant drive of front wheels and an attached drive of the rear wheels. Built prototypes were equipped with 5 seats body and a loading platform. After taking over the FSO factory by the concern Daewoo the project was abandoned.

Asymmetric synthesis of furyl alcohols and amines, as well as kinetic resolution of racemic mixtures of furylcarbinols are described. Some examples of asymmetric alkylation of furan derivatives and preparation of butenolides are also presented.
