Artykuł pokazuje przykłady nowych form przestrzeni publicznej we Wrocławiu. Autor skupia się na interesujących go realizacjach architektonicznych, w których występuje ta przestrzeń w powiązaniu z rzekami Wrocławia. Są to głównie duże zespoły mieszkaniowe i tereny rekreacyjne, jednak nie brak przykładów mniejszych obiektów: pojedynczych budynków, przy których projekt zagospodarowania terenu jest jednocześnie strefą integrującą budynek z rzeką i stanowi przestrzeń publiczną w małej skali, dostępną nie tylko dla użytkowników tego obiektu. Realizacje architektoniczne wcielają w życie założenia programowe polityki rozwoju przestrzennego miasta, dlatego punktem wyjścia w omawianiu tematu jest analiza tych programów i strategii miejskich w kontekście relacji miasta z rzeką. Te wybiegające w bliższą i dalszą przyszłość założenia pokazują, jak ważne jest uwzględnienie w rozwoju miasta i jego planowanym kształcie specyfiki miasta, która w przypadku stolicy Dolnego Śląska wynika z lokalizacji nad systemem Odry i ośmiu innych rzek oraz historycznie uwarunkowanego, ścisłego powiązania gospodarczego, transportowego i kulturowego.

The article shows examples of new forms of public space in Wroclaw. The author focuses on the architectural realizations of interesting him in which there this space in conjunction with the rivers of Wroclaw. These are mainly large residential units and recreational areas, but there is no lack of examples of smaller objects: individual buildings, where land development project is also the area of integrating the building with the river and is a public space on a small scale, available not only for users of that object. Architectural Projects put into practice the objectives of spatial development policy program of the city, thus the starting point in discussing the topic is the analysis of these programs and strategies in the context of urban city relationship with the river. These forward-proximal and long term objectives show how important it is to include specifics of the city in the development of the city and in its planned shape, which specifics in the case of the capital of Lower Silesia results from the location on the system of the Odra River and eight other rivers, and historically conditioned, close economic, transport and cultural ties resulting from location of this kind.

W artykule autor stara się spojrzeć na zagadnienia definiowania przestrzeni architektonicznej całościowo. Wychodząc od zdefiniowania czym jest detal architektoniczny, dochodzi do zależności charakteru detalu architektonicznego od planowanego standardu budynku i decyzji projektowych z tym związanych. Istotę projektowania widzi w integralnym projektowaniu obiektu od koncepcji przestrzennej do detalu.

In this article the author looks at the issues of defining architectural space as a whole. Starting by defining architectural detail, comes to the relationship of the architectural details and the proposed standard of building. The essence of the design is integral process from the spatial concept to detail.

A good habitat must allow eldery to be rejoined with the society they originate from. Thinking of leaving natural resources for future generations must be related to the continuity of culture and civilization. This would be impossible without the continuity of generations in the life of human society. Treating older people with respect and attention and providing them with conditions for participation in the community seems to be more than just - though valuable in itself - assuring the sustainability of the life of this community today. The importance of it constitutes the flow of knowledge and culture to future generations, which involves giving meaning and action to protect the environment for them.
