The publication refers to the history of private towns: Tarnogóra founded by Jan Tarnowski in the mid-sixteenth century and Izbica founded by Antoni Granowski in the mid-eighteenth century. The towns were founded in south-eastern part of Poland by the Wieprz River in Krasnystaw district. The history of towns is presented since 1544 (location of Tarnogóra), throuhg development years, slow fall in the mid-eighteenth century, location of Izbica in 1750 in next and after that history of both towns through 19th and 20th century. The next part of publication describes analysis of urban-planing systems of bothtowns and an attempt to reconstruct the "theoretical models" of the towns in the location's moment. Many of urban elements - the proportions and areas (the market-place, the parcels etc.), characteristic "cross" urban system and the functional programme of both towns - prove that Tarnogóra and Izbica are examples of private towns - "the economic centres".
