Na tle stanu wiedzy, analizy literatury i własnych doświadczeń w badaniach narzędzi z ostrzami obrotowymi przedstawiono stosowaną terminologię i klasyfikację tych narzędzi w procesach obróbki frezowaniem, toczeniem, rozwiercaniem i powiercaniem. Na podstawie tej analizy zaproponowano skorygowaną i ujednorodnioną terminologię i klasyfikację.

Research focuses on unconventional tools with the rotary edges (RET – rotary edges tools) type self-propelled rotary edges tool (SPRET) and driven rotary edges tools (DRET). Based on the analysis, corrected terminology and classification are presented.

Reliability and quality issues are of crucial importance for both customers and manufacturers operating in a highly competitive marketplace. The aim of the study was to recognize attitudes towards product reliability in the furniture industry. The results are presented of the research conducted in 75 Polish and Slovenian furniture companies, focusing on the manner in which enterprises determine the length of the warranty period and which tools they implement to evaluate the reliability of the furniture construction. The data was collected through direct interviews and surveys. The high level of recognition of reliability and quality as key success factors for the next 5-20 years in the furniture industry was observed. A positive correlation was explored between the size of the enterprise and the existence and use, during the design process, of a database detailing structural failures. A coexistence of variables was found connected with the use of a failures database, an implemented, integrated CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system and the offering of an extended warranty period. The results of the study confirm the necessity and importance for furniture-manufacturing companies to consider reliability and warranty issues in their industrial practice.

This paper presents the problematics of technical integration of production planning and management systems with machine tools and other manufacturing devices, being accomplished with the use of computer networks. In particular it depicts problems related to method of manufacturing data transfer to and from production work cells, to data processing within the production work cells, and to their further transmission to and from control units of NC machine tools and manufacturing devices.

Przedstawiono problematykę związaną z informatyczno-technologiczną integracją obrabiarek, maszyn i urządzeń technologicznych wchodzących w skład gniazd obróbkowych z nadrzędnymi systemi technicznego przygotowania produkcji, realizowaną przez sieci komputerowe. W szczególności omawiane są problemy związane z transmisją danych technologicznych do/z gniazd obróbkowych, ich przetworzeniem w gniazdach i dalszą transmisją do/z układów sterowania obrabiarek, maszyn i urządzeń technologicznych sterowanych numerycznie.
