Utilization of renewable resources in rehabilitation of existent Micro-Hydropower plants

In Romania, during 1980-1990 were built over 600 Micro-Hydro-power Plants, having as principal purpose the electrical power supply for the isolated areas or the soil irrigation. After 25 years, less than half of them are still functional, because there was not made any investments regarding their maintenance and rehabilitation. Among these, over 150 are technologically old, and with parameters far outdone from their initial values. In the present context regarding the utilization of renewable resources in Romania, starting with 2005 there was held a constant campaign for monitoring the environmental data, in order to locate the economically favorable zones to implement a wind power plant or a photo-voltaic, connected to an existent small hydro-power plant, needed to be rehabilitated. The paper aims to present such a pilot plant, built near a Small hydro-power plant, which was decommissioned in 1998. In 2014-2016 there was built the first pilot station having connected a wind power plant of own production, a photo-voltaic and a small hydro-power plant, able to supply the electric power. The wind power plant is equipped with a rotor able to start at low values of the wind speed, < 0.4 m/s. In the first phase were built the wind turbine and implemented the available solar panels. Electrical current was used for the first steps in the rehabilitation of the SHP. There were trimmed and cleaned the vegetation increased, and conducted onsite the cement for the reconstruction of channels for water supply and further from to river.\par In this paper are first presented the selected parameters (environmental, geographic and economic conditions) necessary to establish a good position to implement such a pilot station, as to prove, its efficiency. The theoretical modeling and physical realization of the pilot power plant station, the conditions needed to be satisfied for coupling these three resources of energy are mentioned. Further are also presented part of the obtained results during the first 6 months since the project was realized. Finally, there are mentioned some observations, some problems which appeared during the functioning and how we intend to extend this plan to other six sites, as a first step.
