Machine learning (ML) methods facilitate automated data mining. The authors compare the effectiveness of selected ML methods (RBF networks, Kohonen networks, and random forest) as modelling tools supporting the selection of materials in ecodesign. Applied in the design process, ML methods help benefit from the knowledge, experience and creativity of designers stored in historical data in databases. Implemented into a decision support system, the knowledge can be utilized – in the case under analysis – in the process of design of environmentally friendly products. The study was initiated with an analysis of input data for the selection of materials. The input data, specified in cooperation with designers, include both technological and environmental parameters which guarantee the desired compatibility of materials. Next, models were developed using selected ML methods. The models were assessed and implemented into an expert system. The authors show which models best fit their purpose and why. Models supporting the selection of materials, connections and disassembly methods help boost the recycling properties of designed products.

End-of-life oriented product design (design for recycling, disassembly, remanufacturing) is considered an emerging area in modern approach to product lifecycle. Numerous tools aiding the design process have been developed, but many of them work as independent computer applications. The presented solution is strictly integrated with typical design environment: CAD 3D and PLM systems. This paper presents the application of agent technology operating in the PLM environment to support the design process. The architecture of the proposed solution is shown. A method of product assessment, based of three indicators, is described. The example analysis of real household appliance is presented.

In recent years, due to the growing importance of eco-design and tightening EU regulations entrepreneurs are required to implement activities related to environmental protection. It influences the development of methods and tools enabling the implementation of eco-design into practice, which are increasingly used by modern information technologies. They are based on intelligent solutions that allows them to better match the requirements of designers and allows for the automation of processes, and in some cases they are able to do the work themselves, replacing designers. Details are useful in areas that require calculations, comparisons and making choices, which is the process of eco-design. The paper describes methodology of pro-ecological product design oriented towards recycling, based on agent technology, enables the design of environmentally friendly products including recycling. The description of the methodology was preceded by a literature analysis on the characteristics of tools supporting eco-design and the process of its development was presented. The proposed methodology can be used at the design stage of devices to select the best product in terms of ecology. It is based on the original set of recycling indicators, used to evaluate the recycling of the product, ensure the ability to operate in a distributed design environment, and the use of data from various CAD systems, allows full automation of calculations and updates (without user participation).

The large variability of internal and external factors is a serious problem hampering production management. To meet the standards and at the same time ensure the viability of production it is necessary to quickly respond to problems that arise during production processes, and to adequately correct plans. Measures taken in the management of madetoorder production are frequently single and unique, and therefore resemble the features of project management. The paper discusses the project management method derived from the theory of constraints – CCPM. The paper describes an original algorithm for CCPM implementation and presents the results of success CCPM implementation in a company from the Wielkopolska region. The implementation of CCPM resulted in improved timeliness of order delivery, improved communication and standardization of processes related to order delivery.

The paper focuses on issues associated with the ecodesign of household appliances. The authors describe the estimation of recycling cost of end-of-life products using their original system supporting ecodesign. The cost estimate was conducted during product design stage using the information stored in CAD 3D system. A sample estimate was made for a washing machine, fridge, kettle, and a hairdryer.

This paper presents an approach to designing innovative product appliances including its recycling using a number of inventing methods. The research methods include brainstorming, Osborn’s checklist and a crushing method. Each of them has helped to create innovative solutions for a toaster. The inventive tools which have been applied here support creative problem solving and provide a lot of innovative ideas. The conducted research were focused on inventiveness as well as environmental aspects. It was important to find solutions which were not only innovative but environment friendly as well. As a result of research using all these methods, one receives a number of proposals, out of which the most creative ones are selected. Was also important ideas applicability in practice. Indication of the final concept of a product were based on the results of the survey. An appliance of the product using CAD system was a final result of presented research in this paper. A new approach towards designing appliance, known as eco-design, is used and it considers the appliance’s influence on the environment as early as on the level of preliminary designs. In order to meet environmental requirements, one conducts a recycling analysis of the appliance. The analysis was carried out using a recycling agent-based application developed at the Poznan University of Technology.

In the paper the issue of ecological-oriented product design is addressed. The definitions that concern product design are listed and the factors that make them important for the manufacturers are indicated. The method of ecological-oriented product assessment during the design process (implemented in the 3D CAD system), drawn-up by authors, is used for the analysis. The assessment of real household appliance using the method is presented and the conclusions from the evaluation are drawn.

The paper describes the current legal context of product recovery and recycling, and presents a method for estimating recycling cost at product design stage. Design assumptions are given for household appliances, taking into account end-of-life recycling. The authors describe also the selection of materials and joints which facilitate product disassembly for recycling purposes, as well as product disassembly methods, which are divided into destructive, partially destructive and non-destructive.

W artykule opisano metodę szacowania kosztów recyklingu wyrobu na etapie jego projektowania. Przedstawiono założenia projektowe artykułów gospodarstwa domowego uwzględniające recykling po wycofaniu ich z eksploatacji. Opisano dobór materiałów i połączeń oraz demontaż wyrobów na potrzeby recyklingu. Przedstawiono sposoby demontażu wyrobów z podziałem na nieniszczący, częściowo niszczący oraz nieniszczący.

The article is a result of the research studies to give an answer for the following question: What is the nature and importance of the executive competencies in production process, and how do these competencies relate to the quality of the finished product? In the paper there is a consideration of such issues as: the concept of the nature and characteristics of competencies as well as an attempt to clarify the meaning of competencies as determinants in operations and actions provided by the employee. Article presents basic characteristics of the lathe machine operators executive competencies model, which was developed based on the re- search conducted at the manufacturing company from the agricultural machinery sector. This publication was developed in response to the increasing need to systematize the existing knowledge about the professional skills needed in production process.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcje opisu połączeń w modelu 3D wyrobu w postaci więzów funkcjonalnych zorientowanych na reprezentacje połączeń w wyrobie. Zaprezentowano przesłanki dla celów zawarcia szczegółowych danych o połączeniach w modelach tego rodzaju. Zaproponowano formalny model matematyczny opisu połączeń, jego kodowanie w modelu 3D oraz implementacje w systemie modelowania 3D. Przytoczono również przykłady nadawania więzów omawianego rodzaju.

W artykule przedstawiono metodę oceny recyklingowej wyrobów oparta na: modelu formalnym reprezentacji struktury wyrobu uwzgledniającym recykling, zaimplementowanym w systemie CAD oraz systemie agentowym. Dokonano ogólnej charakterystyki ekoprojektowania ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem jego recyklingu. Zaprezentowano założenia metody oraz sposób jej implementacji, jak również opisano funkcjonalność systemu agentowego wspomagającego proekologiczne projektowanie.

Agent Technology which is described in this paper is an example of a relatively new Information Technology and communications infrastructure that is increasingly gaining popularity. In the article authors present an example of Agent Technology to support the assessment of human resources in the enterprise. Brief analysis of Agent Technology together with the definition of manager's skills as well as basic characteristics of the agent have been done. Description of an example of agents that have been modeled within the area of human resources allowing to create a competence gap, by searching the differences between desired and actual level of competence assimilation. The article presents also a model of agent system that consists of individual agents. Agents exchange information between themselves and users of the system, and on that basis make decisions about competence gap. The authors proposed three basic types of agents: Interface Agent (APU), an Intermediate Agent (AK) and Task Agent (AKLK). Agent system proposed by the authors will determine competence gap as well as enable definition of manager's profile involved in the study (based on information obtained from himself) and finally, it will generate a list of competencies required for analysis. System will divide competences into subsets (depending on the manager's profile) and define required level of competence and designate competence gap. It will also allow comparative analysis of the manager's competence levels and generate proposals of methods for raising the competence level.

Dynamiczny rozwój technologii informatycznych systematycznie wpływa na zmiany systemów wspomagających zarządzanie. Ostatnie lata zaowocowały rozwojem metod komunikacji oraz technologii związanych z informacją rozproszoną, co zasadniczo wpłynęło na zmiany w sposobach prowadzenia przedsiębiorstwa. Artykuł dotyczy analizy możliwości zastosowania technologii agentowej w systemach wspierających różne obszary zarządzania w przedsiębiorstwie. Zdefiniowany został podział zastosowań technologii agentowej w obszarze zarządzania oraz zaprezentowano podejście do zagadnień stosowania systemów wieloagentowych m.in. w nowoczesnych modelach systemu zarządzania procesem produkcyjnym, procesu zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw oraz procesu przebiegu negocjacji cenowych.

The dynamic development of Information Technology affects systematic changes in management information systems. Recent years have resulted in the development of communication methods and technologies related to distributed information, which essentially affected the change in the way of running of a business. The paper concerns the analysis of possible application of agent technology in the systems for supporting the various areas of management in the enterprise. The paper presents also the different applications of agent technologies, a typology and define the notion of an agent. The Author describes also the distribution and use of agent technology in the area of management and presents an approach to issues of multi-agent systems in modern models: manufacturing process management, supply chain management process, the process of price negotiation process, and many others.

The article concerns including of environmental aspects during design phase of households appliances. The assessment criteria for this kind of products from EU regulations have been characterized. Based on them additional set of indicators have been proposed. The indicators have been implemented into agent system that supports the designer during the design phase in the product life cycle, thus enabling the assessment of influence of changes in the design on its ecological properties. The structure of the agent system have been also described.

W artykule omówiono architekturę i funkcje systemu wspomagającego pracę projektanta podczas projektowania wyrobu z uwzględnieniem aspektów ekoprojektowania. Scharakteryzowano elementy związane z ekoprojektowaniem, m.in. uzupełnienie tradycyjnej formy reprezentacji struktury wyrobu o dane określające połączenia pomiędzy elementami, uwzględnienie kompatybilności materiałów i oszacowanie kosztów recyklingu wyrobu. Przedstawiono również implementację wspomnianych elementów za pomocą relacyjnej bazy danych. Wskazano umiejscowienie bazy w strukturze kompletnego systemu agentowego.

In the article the architecture and functionality of computer system, that aids the designer during design process taking into account the aspects of eco-designing, is presented. The elements connected with term 'eco-design' (extension of traditional form of product structure with data on connections between elements, materials compatibility, estimation of recycling costs) are characterized. The implementation of these elements with RDMS are also presented. The place of the database within the structure of agent system is also showed.

W artykule przedstawiono przykłady zastosowań technologii agentowej do wspomagania prac w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym. Dokonano krótkiej charakterystyki technologii agentowej. Zdefiniowano pojęcie agenta oraz opisano podstawowe cechy agentów. Opisano przykład zastosowania mobilnych agentów do kreowania strategii przedsiębiorstwa, wyszukiwania niezbędnych danych do opracowywania koncepcji i projektu wyrobu. Zaprezentowano również systemy agen-towe wspomagające prace w dziale produkcyjnym.

In this article eco-design solutions are described. Eco-design is a new approach for product design based on identification of different environmental aspects related to product which are included into design process at the very first stage of the product development. The environmental influence of the products is more often taken into consideration by manufacturers who want to keep their market position. That is why methods and tools for computer aided eco-design are used in order to improve the design process of the product. Several examples of tools for eco-design of appliances with consideration of information systems are described in this paper. In the first section of the article specific tools like EDGE (The Environmental Design Guide for Engineers), ECO-it, The Designer.s Guide and ECODESIGN PILOT are described. In the second section of the paper description of two software applications which were created at Poznan University of Technology is given. First application (AwDomp) can be used by designer in order to design and select the proper materials and technological connections of household appliances with considerations of lowest disassembly costs and recycling rate of these products. Second application (DeforDis) aids the recycling assessment of household appliances. DeforDis is based of the new processed WDW and WDC method and gives possibility to integrate CAD systems with LCA (Life Cycle Assesment) systems. Automation of process of product.s data transfer from CAD system to LCA system allows to save time assigned on estimate of product.s recycling rate.

W artykule przedstawiano zagadnienie proekologicznego projektowania wyrobów AGD z uwzględnieniem systemów informatycznych wspomagających ten proces. Omówiono skutki oddziaływania wyrobu na środowisko naturalne, rosnące znaczenie aspektów ekologicznych w cyklu życia wyrobu oraz podstawowe zasady, etapy i korzyści ekoprojektowania. W kolejnej części ukazano problem rosnącej ilości zużytego sprzętu elektrycznego i elektronicznego (w tym wyrobów AGD) oraz udział tworzyw sztucznych w stosowanych materiałach konstrukcyjnych. Efektem końcowym jest opracowanie algorytmu postępowania podczas projektowania uwzględniającego recykling oraz jego implementacja w aplikacji wspomagającej dobór materiałów i połączeń w proekologicznym projektowaniu wyrobów gospodarstwa domowego.

Opracowana metoda będzie miała na celu projektowanie wyrobów zorientowanych na recykling w fazie likwidacji wyrobów, zbieranie informacji, gromadzenie jej i podejmowanie decyzji wykorzystując technologię agentową. Wykonany system agentowy będzie wspomagał pracę projektantów nad proekologicznym projektowaniem. W artykule przedstawiona zostanie struktura systemu agentowego oraz projekt techniczny systemu wraz z opisem poszczególnych funkcji agentów.
