Ewolucja poglądów na przebieg procesu konkurencji rynkowej spowodowała, iż współcześnie ekonomiści nie kwestionują już jego kreatywnej roli w gospodarce. Bada się w równym stopniu, zarówno determinanty konkurencji, jak i jej skutki. Istnieje wiele publikacji, w których omawia się pozytywne i negatywne cechy poszczególnych jej rodzajów. W prezentowanym artykule zostaną one przedstawione z punktu widzenia integracji państw europejskich.

The evolution ofviews on the course of market competition process has led to the cease of ąuestioning its creative role in economy. What is studied is competition determinants, as well as its results. There are numerous publications in which both positive and negative features of certain kinds of competition are described. In this article they are displayed in the European countries integration point ofview. The process of Polish economy reforms is based on free- market competition that regulates the allocation of supplies in the growing number of partial markets. AU the rules and regulations serve the development of economy, the basis of which has to be the mechanism ofhonest competition. It is vital especially in the light of Poland's aspiration to European Union integration. The basie reąuirement of European Union defines Poland's creating the necessary legał means that would enable efficient application of sanctions towards any kind ofacts that distort competition.
