An experimental investigation of ECT imaging of gaseous flames is reported. Comparison of the images obtained for premixed and diffusion flames, different arragements of burners and finally images of flame propagation in a closed cylindrical chamber are presented. The possibility of further improvements to this technique, as well as applications to control combustion in internal combustion engines discussed.
