Incomplete combustion loss in biomass batch boilers affects the reduction of its efficiency, as well as a high level of carbon monoxide (CO) emission to the atmosphere. Optimization of the air feeding system is one of the proper methods to improve the efficiency of the combustion process. The paper presents the optimization process of the primary air collector in 180 kW batch boiler, powered by straw. Due to the results obtained with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods, some modifications in construction of manifold have been prepared. It resulted in reduction of pressure drops in the collector. The analysis have been performed with ANSYS CFX and ANSYS Fluent solvers, and a dedicated tool – Direct Optimization module.

Results of infrared research conducted on a photovoltaic system which works in an on-grid mode for over a year are presented in the article. The installation described is regularly shadowed by a cooling system. Thermograms of photovoltaic modules in strong and light shadow were conducted. These images show that even in very weak shadow the PV cells are overheated. This has led to small point damages in the amorphous panels and in the future it may also lead to the destruction of polycrystalline modules.

Light-emitting diodes – LED, appeared on the market in the 60s of the last century, and today it is the fastest developing lighting technology. Due to high heat flux on the small surface of the individual diodes, problems related to the light source cooling become to be one of the basic ones. The paper presents results of the thermographic and numerical analyses of the chosen design of the LED lamp radiator. Experimental and computational data have been compared and discussed.

Tematyka publikacji odnosi się do zagadnień niekorzystnego wpływu mechanizmu różnicowego mostu napędowego na własności dynamiczne ciągnika. Analizowany jest stan pracy, w którym siła napędowa jednego z kół jezdnych zostaje ograniczona siłą przyczepności do podłoża, powodując zmianę poślizgu względnego kół napędowych a tym samym zmianę chwilowej prędkości agregatu ciągnikowego. Pulsacje prędkości roboczej ciągnika przekładają się na zmianę parametrów agrotechnicznych realizowanych zabiegów, szczególnie z udziałem takich maszyn jak rozsiewacze nawozowe lub opryskiwacze.

The subject matter of the publication relates to the problems of unfavorable effect of differential gear of the driving axle on the tractor's dynamic properties. The analysis covers the working condition, in which the driving force of one of the road wheels is restricted by the surface adhesive force, resulting in the change of relative slip of driving wheels and thereby change in the momentary speed of the tractor unit. Pulsations of the tractor working speed result in the change of the agrotechnical parameters of the performed operations, particularly with the participation of such machines like fertilizer distributors or spraying machines.

W publikacji zaprezentowano zjawisko udaru hydraulicznego w układzie hydrauliki siłowej kombajnu rolniczego. Opisana dynamika przebiegu ciśnień w fazie przesterowania układu uwzględnia wpływ bezwładności ogniw mechanizmu na zakres ciśnień szczytowych. Przeprowadzone pomiary na obiekcie rzeczywistym uzasadniają celowość stosowania akumulatorów ciśnienia.

The paper presents the phenomenon of a hydraulic impact in the servomotor hydraulic system of a combine harvester. The described dynamics of the pressure curve in the system overload phase takes into account the influence of the mechanism cells inertia upon the peak pressure range. The measurements carried upon a real object justify the purposefulness of using pressure accumulators.

Measuring the unbalance of threshing drum in a combine harvester with the use of IRD procedure enabled the identification of unbalance with cirumferential positioning of beater slat. Thus, a base was achieved to formulate the rules of diagnostic inference concerning the extent of beater deflection and the change of threshing gap.

Rozpylacze są jednymi z najważniejszych elementów opryskiwaczy hydraulicznych. W wyniku eksploatacji następuje ich naturalne zużycie polegające na deformacji wylotu. Jednym z czynników równomierności oprysku jest zapewnienie takich samych oporów hydraulicznych kompletu rozpylaczy umieszczonych na belce opryskiwacza. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań charakterystyk hydraulicznych o postaci Q = f(p) i μf = f(p) rozpylaczy płaskostrumieniowych nowych oraz z uszkodzoną szczeliną wylotową.

Atomizers are one of the most important elements of hudraulic atomizers. In the results of exploitation there is their natural usage consisting in deformation of a mouth. One of the factors of uniformity of spray is assurance of the same hydraulic resistance of the set of atomizers placed on a beam of an atomizer, in the paper there are presented the results of researches of hydraulic characterisations in the from of new fan atomizers and with damaged outlet fissure.
