More and more companies focus on optimizing investments in stock. Keeping right stock levels plays important role in maintaining good market condition of a company in variable economic reality. There are many ways of fighting with inadequate inventories. One of them is planning production and deliveries using reorder point method. Reorder point method is widely known and well described in handbooks, but it seems that simple forms of this method do not perform well in conditions of modern markets. Additional calculations should be included. This article gives some advices on how to improve reorder point method.
