The constantly increasing intensity of transport together with the increasing sensibility of population to noise load and air pollutants force the railway route owners and operators to implement effective measures to reduce negative effects of transport on its surroundings. Although the railway traffic is more environmentally friendly than road or aircraft traffic, the modernisation of railway corridors and the increase of the passing train speed causes the increase of the noise emissions, too. This paper deals with the possibilities of abatement of the railway noise emissions directly at the source of the noise by resilient components built in the permanent way. They cause the vibration abatement of the passing trains and influence the transmission and emitation of noise emissions. With the help of the ArcGIS software with the ArcAkus module the noise propagation and the possible abbatement of noise levels after embedding of the rail absorber are simulated in a chosen area of the modernised railway track.

Wciąż postępujący wzrost natężenia ruchu transportowego w połączeniu z rosnącą wrażliwością społeczną na emisję hałasu i zanieczyszczenie powietrza skłaniają właścicieli infrastrutury i operatorów do wdrażania skutecznych środków obniżenia negatywnego oddziaływania transportu na środowisko. Mimo iż ruch kolejowy jest bardziej przyjazny środowisku niż ruch drogowy czy też lotniczy, modernizacja kolejowych korytarzy transportowych i zwiększanie prędkości przejazdu pociągów przyczyniają się również do zwiększenia poziomu hałasu. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono możliwości zmniejszenia emisji hałasu bezpośrednio u jego źródła, poprzez zastosowanie w konstrukcji torowiska bardziej odpornych materiałów. Umożliwia to zmniejszenie wibracji pochodzących od przejeżdżającego pociągu, a co za tym idzie również redukcję poziomu emitowanego hałasu. Przy użyciu oprogramowania ArcGIS z modułem ArcAkus przeprowadzono symulację propagacji hałasu w wybranym obszarze modernizowanej sieci kolejowej oraz symulację dla tego samego obszaru, po zainstalowaniu elementów absorbujących hałas.

The modernisation of the Slovak Railways infrastructure has become a challenge to re-evaluate the dimensioning of the railway subgrade design for non-traffic loading, particularly in terms of the application of new materials into its construction and gradually changing climatic conditions. The first part of the paper shows the results of the long-term monitoring of the temperature regime of the railway subgrade on the railway track structure in the test stand (the position of the zero isotherm, the behaviour of the temperatures in the design layers and in their interfaces, the temperature of the air). The second part presents the results of the experimental determination of the thermo-technical properties of the built up materials into the railway subgrade of the trial stand structure (the thermal conductivity modulus, specific thermal capacity). The conclusion deals with the preliminary results derived from the comparison of the findings from both experimental measurements.

Modernizacja Kolei Słowackich napotkała na szereg wyzwań związanych ze zmianą podejścia do gradacji i wymiarowania podtorza w warunkach braku obciążenia oraz w szczególności z zastosowaniem nowych materiałów konstrukcyjnych, zwłaszcza w kontekście stopniowo zmieniających się warunków klimatycznych. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono wyniki długoterminowego monitorowania parametrów temperaturowych podtorza na stanowisku testowym toru kolejowego (pozycja izotermy zerowej, kształtowanie się temperatur w warstwach projektowych i w powierzchniach styku, temperatura powietrza). W drugiej części przedstawiono wyniki doświadczalne badań własności termotechnicznych materiałów konstrukcyjnych podtorza na stanowisku testowym (moduł przewodnictwa cieplnego, termiczna pojemność właściwa). W końcowej części artykułu przedstawiono wstępne porównanie wyników obu badań doświadczalnych.

This text deals with the possibilities of joining logistical parks to railway transport in Zilina industrial zone. There are detailed characteristics of designed variants of joining - 4 chosen areas suitable for location of a logistical center considering the other means of transport (water, road, air) and necessary occupation of territory. Solution takes into account the use of existing railway system for passenger and goods transport and at the same time it accepts territorial plans of included areas.

W artykule omówiono możliwości połączenia parków logistycznych z transportem kolejowym w strefie przemysłowej Ziliny. Szczegółowo scharakteryzowano proponowane warianty połączenia - 4 wybrane lokalizacje centrum logistycznego biorąc pod uwagę pozostałe gałęzie transportu (wodny, drogowy, powietrzny) oraz potrzebną powierzchnię terenu. Rozwiązanie uwzględnia wykorzystanie istniejącego systemu kolejowych przewozów pasażerskich i towarowych, a jednocześnie zgodne jest z planami rozwoju terytorialnego analizowanych obszarów.

In the paper the author presents the results of experimental monitoring of the thermal resistance of the railway track construction on a testing stand received during two winter periods. During the winter period 2003/2004 there was 100 - 120 mm thick snow cover on the surface of the rail gravel and during the winter period 2004/2005 the railway track construction without snow cover was monitored.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań głębokości przemarzania konstrukcji toru kolejowego przeprowadzonych na doświadczalnym odcinku, które otrzymano podczas obserwacji prowadzonych w dwóch okresach zimowych. Zimą, na przełomie lat 2003/2004, na powierzchni podsypki utrzymywała się pokrywa śnieżna o grubości około 100 - 120 mm. Rok później, w okresie 2004/2005 badana konstrukcja toru nie była pokryta warstwą śniegu.
