There are discussed principles of the IFMI method of determination of the hydrological flow quantity taking into consideration the state of the water course. There are also presented examples of application of that method to calculation concerning the Skawa and the Wisłoka.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki pierwszego etapu prac nad metodyką określania wartości przepływu nienaruszalnego, wykonywanych w ramach projektu PBZ-KBW 061/T07/2001: Metodyczne podstawy narodowego planu zintegrowanego rozwoju gospodarki wodnej w Polsce. Prace te objęły: analizę umocowań prawnych pojęcia "przepływ nienaruszalny" w prawodawstwie polskim i Ramowej Dyrektywie UE, przygotowanie propozycji jego definicji, rozpoznanie aktualnego stanu wiedzy na temat abiotycznych uwarunkowań tzw. hydrobiologicznego przepływu nienaruszalnego oraz sformułowanie założeń do metodyki jego obliczania.

This paper summarizes the first stage of the works on the methodology of the determination of the minimum acceptable flow, which has been realized within the project PBZ-KBW 061/T07/2001: Methodological bases of the national plan of the integrated development of the water management in Poland. The works comprised: analysis of the legal bases of the notion "minimum acceptable flow" in polish law and Water Framework Directive EU, preparation of its definition, recognizing of the current stage of knowledge on abiotical conditions of the so called hydrobiological minimum acceptable flow and formulation of the assumptions for the methodology of its calculation.

Podstawowym zagadnieniem gospodarki wodnej jest wykorzystanie zasobów wodnych, które nie powoduje znacznych szkód w środowisku naturalnym. W artykule przedstawiono metodę wyznaczania przepływu nienaruszalnego zgodną z szeroko stosowaną w rozwiniętych krajach świata metodyką IFIM oraz opisano dokonane wdrożenia tej metody.

One of the main problems of the water management is development of water resources with the protection of the natural habitats. In this paper one of the methods to quantify an environmental water (instream benefits, instream flow needs) was described. This method bases on IFIM methodology developed and used in most reach lands. This paper summarizes two polish implementations of this method.

Omówiono sposób zaregulowania przez wybrane zbiorniki retencyjne dorzecza górnej Wisły fali powodziowej z lipca 2001 roku. Opisano czasy i wielkości fal doprowadzających do poszczególnych obiektów oraz przebieg gospodarki powodziowej na każdym zbiorniku. W szczególny sposób przeanalizowano gospodarkę zbiornika. W szczególny sposób przeanalizowano gospodarkę zbiornika Rożnów.

The paper discusses the way of regulation of the flood wave in July 2001 by means of retention reservoirs in the basin of the upper Vistula. It describes the time and the size of waves flowing into particular objects, as well as the course of the flood management on each of the reservoirs. The management of the Roznow reservoir has been in a particularly detailed way analysed.

Elaboration of the water balance is the basic and indispensable operation preceeding the implementation of conditions of utilization of water from the given catchment area. In the paper there has been discussed a proposal for standardization of presentation of results of that balance. Special attention has been given to the way of presentation of results of water distribution and the excess of water determined by means of the method of statical balance for the given catchment area. The proposed method of standardization of the way of the water balance results presentation is an essential and remarkable comment in the carried on for several years discussion on the form and the substance of conditions of the use of water in the catchment area.
