Badano proces biologicznego rozkładu par metyloizobutyloketonu w strumieniu powietrza i wpływ tego procesu na działanie biofiłtru. W trakcie tych badań określono przydatność w procesie biofiltracji trzech różnych wypełnień naturalnych, takich jak: szyszki olchy, kora sosnowa oraz mieszanina kory sosnowej i kompostu w stosunku objętościowym 2:1.

The process of biological decomposition of metyl isobutyl ketone vapours in air stream was studied experimentally. The effect of this process on biofilter performance was also analyzed. Usability of three natural beds, i.e. alder cones, pine bark and mixture of the pine bark and compost (with 2 : 1 volumetric proportion) was tested.

The results of experimental studies of biofiltration process of volatile organic compound vapour from the stream of exhaust air in a column with natural packing are presented in the paper. Vapours of the methyl isobutyl ketone were removed from air stream. Biofiltration process was controlled during 30 days. The pressure drop and biofiltration efficiency were determined on the basis of the experiments.
