The paper deals with the problems of nanoparticles and nanomaterials applied in technical practice. The research on the use of nanoparticles has at present a great development. Their potential has a large of use. Particles of nano-size, i.e. below 100 nm exhibit other properties than larger particles and because this area is being explored in all possible sectors. The effect of adding these particles at different mechanical properties in coatings on various surfaces neat (separated on a band saw, milling work, ground roughness 800 and 80 polished) dependent on quality prepared nanoparticles by different conditions of milling. One of the possibilities for an extension of the duty cycle of tyre production molds is applying a protective coating. Due to the functionality of the desktop is needed a very thin coating layer. A suitable type of coating is thus a PTFE coating, which prolongs the service life of hundreds of percent. Better possibility how to improve an extension of the duty cycle is the addition of the coating titanium dioxide particles into the PTFE medium. This is the way how to create nanocomposite directly on the mold surface.

This article deals with examing the effect of modifier on changes in microstructure of the alloy AlSi7Mg0.3. The content of the experiment was to examine the effect of addition of calcium, stroncium, and antimony to change the morphology of the eutectic silicon in the alloy type of Al-Si (namely AlSi7Mg0.3). Besides changes in the morphology of eutectic silicon was explored focused on character exlusion modifiers within microstructure of the modified alloy. Examination of the microstructure was realized by scanning electron microscopy and complemented by EDX analysis of the examined samples.

Treatment of metal alloys is one of the ways to affect the properties of the material. The article describes an experiment realized at FPTM UJEP when was experimentally studied the influence of alloys AlSi9CuMnNi calcium modification on some of its properties. The alloy was modified with various amounts of calcium and subsequently machining. Also hardness was measured in the resulting alloys. Machining was performed under certain cutting conditions. After machining the obtained chip was evaluated. Chip was evaluated for its shape, length and amount of chips per 100 g. Devices in FPTM laboratories were used to prepare experimental casts and to evaluate hardness and chips, like the melting furnace LAC K70/13, hardness tester Ernst AT 250X or microscope Olympus SZX 10. Experimental quantities of calcium was 0.05, 0.1 and 0.15 wt. %. Presented experiments are part of the extensive research undertaken at Faculty of Production Technologies and Management at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.
