Pollution Indicator of a Megawatt Hour Produced in Cogeneration – the Efficiency of Biogas Purification Process as an Energy Source for Wastewater Treatment Plants

The sewage treatment plant, as a producer of renewable energy, should make every effort to ensure that the biogas used as a fuel meets the quality requirements, including those of the manufacturers of cogeneration units. Such measures necessitate the application of a conditioning process of biogas in order to remove harmful compounds, so that its parameters ensure failure-free operation of engines. The aim of the research was to evaluate the effectiveness of biogas treatment in the A-type installation using the “wet biogas treatment” technology, and in the B-type installation, which is a comprehensive solution comprising sulfur removal as a result of a simultaneous regeneration of the bed with oxygen, removal of siloxanes on activated carbon, cooling and heating of biogas along with its filtration. The analysis of the results of biogas testing for these two installations demonstrated fundamental qualitative differences for the benefit of the installation B, in which the biogas was characterized by a much lower content, mainly of sulfur, hydrogen sulfide, siloxanes and humidity. The introduced pollution indicator of a megawatt hour produced in cogeneration one has confirmed much higher pollution load from the A-type installation. The hybrid solution applied in the work with simultaneous regeneration of the bed has confirmed the efficiency of biogas conditioning. Such a solution contributes to a safe and reliable operation of the cogeneration system for generating energy from a renewable source, which in turn contributes to the optimization of energy.

Measuring social media engagement on sports club websites

Purpose: The main purpose of this article is to measure the effects of the communication of football sports clubs using social media. An additional aim is to create a versatile, flexible tool for managing online communication. Design/methodology/approach: The method of a taxonomic synthetic development measure was used to achieve the intended purpose. This measure was calculated using data covering the activity of selected sports clubs on Facebook (Meta) from 1 to 10 October 2022 and the users' perception of this activity. The subjects of the study were sports clubs of the highest men's football competition class in Poland. Findings: The study resulted in a ranking of the optimal use of Facebook (Meta) in the communication of clubs with their stakeholders. Research limitations/implications: The main limitations of the study are the variety of factors that may influence the communication management of sports clubs and the fact of similarity between the subjects of the study. The main focus of the paper is to show how data from web statistics can be used. In the future, the method can be adapted to communication management problems. Practical implications: The research method used in the paper is flexible, which allows it to be used freely to find out the effectiveness of companies' social media activities. Companies operating in homogeneous markets are provided with a tool for identifying their competitive positioning in terms of marketing communication. Social implications: It is assumed that, with the optimal application of the proposed statistical method, companies, not only sports clubs, gain a tool to objectively assess their communication management policy through social media. The method replaces the qualitative assessment of this management, the position among different types of media or competitors. Originality/value: The article is aimed at fims operating in a single market, where benchmarking is used in online communication. The novelty is that this is the only application of the taxonomic method of synthetic development measure in the management of communication through social media.

Analysis of the end-of-life the front suspension beam of a vehicle

The aim of the article is focused on assessing the degree of end-of-life for the vehicle front suspension beam. The first stage of the problem taken was represented by a road test of the vehicle at distance expressed by 100.000 km. Following the end of the operation tests, the suspension beam was dismantled and subjected to laboratory tests. The tests demonstrated numerous beam top layer plastic deformations, which came into being as a result of the vehicle driving onto an obstacle on the roadway or onto raised road infrastructure elements. At the point of connection of the stabiliser rod to the beam, surface degradation was noted, which consisted in the considerable change of the surface profile, hardness reduction and the grey and dark brown colour. Corrosion regions and fretting wear traces were noted. Corrosion pits, scratches and material build-ups was observed. The analysis of the chemical composition of wear products demonstrated the presence of elements such as iron, oxygen, chlorine and silicon, as an effect of operational conditions.

This document discusses the use of mechatronic solutions in pipe organs. This article is the first in a series, in which the authors present a historical view of pipe organs, as well as their development. It is also an explanation of new mechatronic solutions used in modern pipe instruments, ensuring the organist's intended sounds are delivered. The registration of the instrument, both before and after performance, is explored in terms of the usage of systems.

Praca przedstawia zastosowanie rozwiązań mechatronicznych w organach piszczałkowych. Jest to pierwszy artykuł z tego cyklu, w którym autorzy zaprezentowali rys historyczny organów piszczałkowych, a także ich rozwój. Podjęta została też próba opisania nowych rozwiązań mechatronicznych, stosowanych we współczesnych instrumentach piszczałkowych, które nadają im możliwość odpowiedniego, zgodnego z wolą organisty, wydawania dźwięku. Nie bez znaczenia pozostaje także aspekt rejestrowania instrumentu zarówno przed, jak i w trakcie wykonywania utworu. Autorzy postarali się udzielić odpowiedzi na pytanie zawarte w tytule niniejszej pracy.

Application of the Raspberry Pi 4 micro-controller for the conceptual design of the baby monitor

The subject of the work is a conceptual design of a baby monitor. The central control system for the system is the Raspberry Pi 4 platform. In the next stages, practical aspects related to the topic of work are discussed. Selected components of the system were presented, connection diagrams between individual components were developed and the assembly process of a fully functional system was presented. Then the source code of the program controlling the operation of the electronic system was characterized. In the last stage, the method of testing and the results of the performed functional tests of the complete system being the subject of the study were described.

Przedmiotem pracy jest projekt koncepcyjny niani elektronicznej. Centralnym systemem sterowania systemem jest platforma Raspberry Pi 4.W kolejnych etapach omawiane są praktyczne aspekty związane z tematem pracy. Przedstawiono wybrane elementy systemu, opracowano schematy połączeń pomiędzy poszczególnymi elementami, a także proces montażu w pełni funkcjonalnego systemu. Następnie scharakteryzowano kod źródłowy programu sterującego pracą układu elektronicznego. W ostatnim etapie opisano metodę testowania i wyniki przeprowadzonych testów funkcjonalnych kompletnego systemu będącego przedmiotem badań.

The everyday use of the bicycle is becoming increasingly common. People noticed the need to take care of both their health and the environment. The geographical location of Poland encourages cycling, which is the reason new kilometres of cycling routes are being built every year. This is associated with the rising interest in buying a bicycle. A conceptual tricycle with an additional electric drive powered by solar panels is presented in this article. The photovoltaic panel is installed on the basket roof. The electric motor may be used during an uphill ride and when the driver has run out of energy for pedalling. In the crank mechanism, there is a sensor which starts the motor when a small foot pressing force on the pedal is detected. The tricycle has an all-purpose structure, owing to which the seat mounted in the basket can be easily replaced with a double seat, a shopping bin or a child's safety seat. The tricycle may be used by both private persons and companies involved in tourist transport. The cost of the structural details of the tricycle suggested in this article does vary considerably from standard electric bikes, however, that solution has several important advantages, which may be decisive in the purchase of this solution.

Safety as a state that gives a sense of confidence and a guarantee of its maintaining may also act as an element motivating to use a product or service, certainty of use of the product and the certainty of using the service. In the second approach, mass-specific services, including sports services related to the operation of sports clubs, are a service specific in terms of security. The entity providing them should ensure the safety of all its participants, from sportsmen to sports spectators. The aim of the article is to present partial results of research results on the relationship between the sense of safety of sports club fans and active participation in a sports event. The research covered a group of 1127 people surveyed in the first half of 2018 using a direct questionnaire on fans of sports teams and research on secondary sources. The main hypothesis is that a sporting event allows to extend a marketing offer to new segments, enrich the expanded sports product, set new pricing strategies and use promotion only when a viewer has a high sense of security. In this approach, it is security from the point of view of the customer that determines the use of a sports service, but also satisfaction, and, in the future, also loyalty.

W artykule dokonano analizy kosztów wewnętrznych działalności firmy zajmującej się transportem towarów na terenie Unii Europejskiej. Dokonano krótkiej charakterystyki firmy oraz porównano udział procentowy kosztów układu rodzajowego oraz kosztów ogólnych. Analizę porównawczą przeprowadzono dla sześcioletniego okresu działalności firmy. Do analizy kosztów przyjęto dane pochodzące z okresu 2012-2017r.

The article analyzes the costs of a company dealing in the transport of goods within the European Union. A short description of the company was made and the percentage share of costs of the generic system and general costs was compared. A comparative analysis was conducted for the six-year period of the company's activity. Data from the period 2012-2017 were adopted for the analysis of costs.
