Umiędzynarodowianie procesów społeczno-ekonomicznych oraz dynamicznie zmieniające się otoczenie mają implikacje w różnych sferach życia. Nie pozostaje to bez wpływu na bezpieczeństwo państwa zarówno wewnętrzne, jak i zewnętrzne. Autor zauważa, że kwestie bezpieczeństwa oraz troska o bezpieczny rozwój w dłuższej perspektywie czasowej od lat niezmiennie absorbują społeczeństwa. Obszar ten jest również przedmiotem zainteresowania powstałej w 2011 roku nowej dyscypliny naukowej – nauk o bezpieczeństwie. Dyscyplina ta nie ma jeszcze w pełni zdefiniowanej tożsamości naukowej. Ze względu na swoją interdyscyplinarność musi rozwiązać wiele problemów natury metodologicznej. Rzetelne diagnozowanie potencjalnych zagrożeń oraz sposobów przeciwdziałania im i (lub) minimalizowania skutków zdarzeń niekorzystnych wymaga wcześniejszego naukowego rozpoznania możliwych niebezpieczeństw. Autor konkluduje, że palącą potrzebą jest skumulowanie naukowego wysiłku, by nauki o bezpieczeństwie mogły zyskać tożsamość i służyć społeczeństwu.

The process of internationalization of social and economic processes, as well as dynamically changing surroundings, have their implications in various areas of life. This, in return, influences national security, both internal and external. The author points out that security-related matters and the concern to ensure safe development in the long-term perspective have been occupying societies for years. This area is also a topic of interest for security sciences, a new scientific discipline first introduced in 2011. The discipline does not have a clearly defined scientific identity yet. It's interdisciplinary character requires solving many methodological problems. Thorough and meaningful diagnosis of potential threats and determining ways to prevent them and/or minimize the consequences of negative events, require scientific recognition of possible threats beforehand. The author concludes that cumulative scientific effort is essential and necessary to give security sciences identity that will enable them to serve society.

In this article the importance of issues related to human resources for the development of logistics and transport are discussed. Well-motivated employees are a specific kind of capital for a company, determining its successes or failures, its development or decline.

The article concerns basic assumptions of postgraduate Master's studies at Land Forces Faculty. This curriculum has been conducted since February 4, 2001 and therefore it is possible to verify its assumptions. The authors of the article explain the reasons why the new curriculum was introduced, like the armed forces transformations, the need to include military university education into civilian university education and the necessity to prepare personnel in new political and social conditions. In effect of these changes the AON graduate will receive the Master's degree in Managing and Command. Education at the postgraduate Master's course at AON will be carried out during five terms. The aims and contens of each term are composed in order to ensure effective theoretical and practical education. This will allow the students to gain systemic knowledge and based on it skills in the area of organisation management military organisations in particular. The basic education contents still concern operational and tactical education, which decisively influences the level of the students' preparation to perform tasks in military commands and units. As a result introducting new curriculum will not lower the level of preparing the staff – command personnel.
