The results of studies on the possibility of application of ozonized air to reduce the wear and tear in the tribocontact "wheel-rail" are presented. The technique of influence estimation of ozonized air, as activator surface, on the friction interaction in wheel-rail contact, is proposed, the results of experimental research results are presented.

The paper reviewed the proposed promising method for jet-abrasive treatment of contact surfaces of wheel and rail. The mathematical model of metal removal and the depth of penetration of abrasive particles, which are used in the method for determining surface roughness profile formed by jet-abrasive processing. Concluded that the choice of parameters and treatment regimes for optimal profile of the surface roughness.

The article presents the problem of determination of the main factors influencing on traction locomotive properties. The results of chosen factors investigation conducted in order to analyse the changes of the locomotive traction quality are discussed. Some problems of locomotive elements wear are described.

Znane metody badania jakości charakterystyk trakcyjnych wymagają rozważenia niestabilnych warunków ruchu zestawów kołowych zarówno w badaniach eksperymentalnych, jak i teoretycznych. Proponowana metoda podaje kryteria oceny tendencji lokomotyw lub kół do przejścia w stan poślizgu. Przedstawiono fizyczne podstawy pogorszenia właściwości trakcyjnych styku koła z szyną w czasie dynamicznych i kinematycznych zaburzeń.

The well-known methods of traction quality investigation need to consider the unstable moving carriage regime both during theoretical and experimental investigations. The given method supposes to develop the criteria estimating the tendency of the locomotive or some wheel pairs transition to the break in slippage state. The physical picture of the wheel traction quality lowering in the contact under action of dynamic and kinematics perturbation on an example of a separate wheel motion is considered.
