The degradation of pentoxifylline (PTX) using H2O2, UV, H2O2/UV, Fenton and photo-Fenton processes has been examined in aqueous solutions. The influence of oxidation agent and initial PTX concentration, on H2O2, H2O2/UV, Fenton and photo-Fenton reactions was investigated. The addition of inorganic ions (Cl–, NO3–, SO42– and CO32–) on the degradation efficiency of PTX was tested for H2O2/UV, Fenton and photo-Fenton processeses. The results indicate that the photo-Fenton reaction is the most sufficient for PTX removal. The complete pharmaceutics decomposition is achieved after 5 min under optimized concentration of FeSO4,·7 H2O2 and H2O2. The degradation of PTX is inhibited in the presence of inorganic matter in H2O2/UV and Fenton reaction. In the photo-Fenton process addition of above compounds does not affect the reaction rate. Structures of ten products of photo-Fenton reaction have been proposed.

Ionically conducting rubber phase coatings are suited for use in the mobile phase conditions of HPLC (gradient elution, organic mobile phase components), and for low flow-rate applications such as used in capillary electrophoresis (CE). Especially organic ionic analytes of industrial-, biotech- and pharmaceutical environments are the potential fields of application. Much work remains to be done to understand why multiply charged molecules perform much better than expected from models used for small polyionic (mostly metal ion) subjects. The present work concentrates on phenomena that at first sight could be classified as deviations from Nernst and Nicolskii-Eisenmann type behaviour. The non-equilibrium conditions in hydrodynamic methods, lack of experimental data and lack of in sight into the process generating potential are shown as the cause of mis interpretations when using this young and promising technique.

The coordination properties to ward Cu(II) and Fe(III) of 1-N-(1'-hydroxy- 2c- naphthoyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane and 1,7-bis-N,N-(1c- hydroxy-2c- naphthoyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane have been studied by means of UV-Vis spectroscopy. The stability constants of copper and iron complexes with those compounds were determined. Synthesis of modified silica gels was presented. Selective preconcentration of Cu(II) and Fe(III) on modified stationary phases was investigated.

The paper reviews application of new pracedure for generatian of standard analyte gas mixtures by thermal decompositian of chemically modified silica gel. The method enables preparatian of standard mixtures of thiols, isothiocyanates, ammonia and amines, methyl chloride, ethene, carbon mono- and dioxide in a very wide range of concentrations (down to ppt level). Preparation of standard mixtures proceeds during calibration. Stability of surface compounds significantly improves the quality and reproducibility of calibration step.

przedstawiono wykorzystanie nowej metody sporządzania gazowych mieszanin wzorcowych opartej na termicznym rozkładzie modyfikowanego żelu krzemionkowego. Metodę zastosowano do sporządzania gazowych mieszanin wzorcowych tioli, izotiocyjanianów, amoniaku i amin, chlorku metylu, etenu, tlenku i dwutlenku węgla w szerokim zakresie stężeń (nawet na poziomie ppt).
