Normy do projektowania powinny się charakteryzować syntetycznym ujęciem problemów mechaniki, obciążeń i wymiarowania. Nie zawsze tak jest w przypadku eurokodów. Poniżej dokonano przeglądu norm wskazując niedostatki w zakresie definiowania pojęć podstawowych. Niejasności pojawiają się wszędzie i czasem prowadzą do błędnego odczytywania treści normy. Porównywano teksty norm oryginalnych w języku angielskim i ich tłumaczenia na język polski. Zasygnalizowano nieścisłości w oryginałach i dodatkowo powstałe podczas tłumaczenia. Jak zawsze w sytuacjach wątpliwych istnieje możliwość odwołania się do ścisłych sformułowań z zakresu mechaniki. Podsumowując, uznano konieczność naprawy norm tak by były narzędziem projektowania a nie przedmiotem dyskusji jak tutaj.

Regulations on which designers base their process of designing of any engineer structures should include and combine mechanics, loads and dimensioning. It is not always the case as far as eurocodes are concerned. Ambiguities appear everywhere, which sometimes leads to incorrect understanding of a norm. The authors meticulously analysed basic mechanical terms. Their digressions began with the concepts of strain and deformation that have discrepant definitions in sources from other countries. The next part of article discusses the concept of „shear lag”. It is treated as an elementary concept in the eurocodes, although is has not been defined yet. Other sources define it as cooperating width and shear strain in the beam flanges or as stretching. Polish translation mentions the effect of „wide stripes”. The authors focused also on dynamics – especially while discussing first natural frequencies denoted as “n0”. They scrutinised the norm EN 1991-2 in which dynamic problems of bridges are understood as effects of service load when the environmental impact is not included. As always, in a situation when there is a doubt, it is possible apply the to accurate mechanics rules. To sum up, Polish versions of bridge eurocodes should be corrected to be unambiguous and useful in a design.

W pierwszej części artykułu autorzy przedstawiają w ogólnym zarysie problem bezpieczeństwa niechronionych użytkowników ruchu, w zależności od panujących warunków na drodze. W ostatnich kilkudziesięciu latach obserwujemy szybki rozwój transportu drogowego, co przekłada się na wzrost liczby pojazdów. Tym samym wzrasta ryzyko wystąpienia niebezpiecznych zdarzeń drogowych.

In the first part of the article, the authors present a general outline of the problem of safety of unprotected road users, depending on the prevailing road conditions. In the past several years the rapid growth of road transport has been observed, which translates into an increase in the number of vehicles. Thereby the risk of dangerous road events is increasing.

W pierwszej części artykułu ("Magazyn Autostrady", nr 3/12) autorzy opisali w ogólnym zarysie problem bezpieczeństwa niechronionych użytkowników ruchu, w zależności do warunków panujących na drodze. W niniejszej publikacji przeprowadzono analizę zdarzeń drogowych na wybranych ulicach Lublina, które według statystyk policyjnych należą do ciekawych przykładów poprawy bezpieczeństwa ruchu.

In a previous article, the authors described in general the problem of traffic safety for vulnerable users, depending on road conditions. This paper presents the analysis of road accidents on selected streets of Lublin, which according to police statistics, constitute interesting examples of "how to improve traffic safety".
