The study was carried out on the bark samples, which were collected from trees of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and English oak (Quercus robur L.) from the ecologically pure area - Grajewo (North east Poland). The aim of this study was to evaluate the content of selected metals (zinc and lead) in the bark of trees from ecologically pure area. The zinc content in the bark of Scots pine was lower than in the bark of oak. The analogical relationships were observed for the lead. Despite the fact that concentration of zinc and lead in the elements of biotope and tissues organisms from contaminated area is very high, concentration of these elements in the bark of trees from ecologically pure area is very small.
