Results of laboratory and pilot tests of post-furnace processing of coke with water solution of tetraborates with SAC are shown. Results of influence of reagents on main quality indexes, such as Coke Reactivity Index (CRI) and Coke Strength after Reaction with CO2 (CSR) are represented. Preliminary estimate of economic efficiency of application of the offered method at coke-plant has been provided.

Przedstawiono wyniki testów laboratoryjnych i pilotowych obróbki pozapiecowej koksu roztworem wodnym tetraboranów z SAC. Przedstawiono wyniki oceny wpływu reagentów na główne wskaźniki jakościowe koksu, takie jak: CRI i CSR. Wstępnie oszacowano efekt ekonomiczny zastosowania tej metody w zakładzie koksowniczym.

In has been shown the principal possibility of many-tonnage carbon-containing wastes using (lignin, petroleum wastes and their blends) for of high-porous and strong sorbents obtaining. At the activation of wastes blends it have been obtained the sorbents with different distributions of pores on size which could be used for gases purification and for were obtained. Such sorbents are suitable for waste ga obtaining s purification and purification of waste water from large organic molecules such as phenols and dyes.

It has been studied the interaction of coals ranging from brown coal (Cdaf=70.4%) to anthracite (Cdaf=95.2%), with equimolar nitrating system HNO3-Ac2O (20-2C) yielding nitrated coals named as structurally modified coals (SMCs). In comparison with the parent coals, SMCs have more disordered structures contain aromatic NO2 groups and different oxygen functionalities as substitutes. Besides, SMCs are more thermolabile comparing with parent coals. Nitrated coals are better precursors of active carbons and may be activated by KOH into adsorbents with surface area as high as 1200 in 2/g.

The structure and composition transformations during long time sorption of copper ions from Cu(Ac)2 solutions by salty coals of Ukraine were investigated. The instrumental techniques used in the sorption mechanism study included XRD and IR spectrometry. Formation of new crystal phases after copper sorption was detected. Due to their disordered structure and high content of functional groups, salty coals are efficient sorbents for polyvalent cations. The possibility for non-energetic usage of investigated coals was shown.

It has been established that low-grade and salty coals in principle could be used as raw material for reception of reducing gases by the method of carbon dioxide gasification at the temperature of 1000 C. The preliminary treatment of these coals by 1% alkaline solution allows to extract the humates of alkaline metals and to increase the rate of gasification in 1,1-1,4 times.

Stwierdzono, że niskogatunkowe oraz zasolone węgle mogą być wykorzystane jako surowiec do otrzymywania gazów redukcyjnych w procesie gazyfikacji tlenkiem węgla w temperaturze 1000 C. Wstępna obróbka węgli za pomocą 1% roztworu zasady pozwala wydzielić sole metali kwasów huminowych oraz zwiększyć szybkośc gazyfikacji 1,1-1,4 razy.
