Young modulus of face layer and core layer in three directions on the example of P2 particleboard. The Young's modulus is main parameter characterizing particleboard material which was tested during the bending test according to EN 310. It also known as flexural modulus or modulus of elasticity. For industrial and comparative usage that bending test issufficient. However, for the purpose of numerical analysis one material constant is not sufficient to describe the material at anacceptable level. The density is undoubtedly related to the mechanical properties of particleboard. The aim of this research is to determine Young modulus of the core layer and the face of particleboard in three directions on the example of chipboard type P2.

Stifness modelling of semi-rigid furniture joint with eccentric connector. The aim of the presented study was to model semi-rigid furniture joint with eccentric connector. In the range of investigations was modeling particleboards in three cases, one layer, three layer and five layer. Furniture corner joint with eccentric connector was model as Hettich Rastex 15, with twister DU 644 screw-in dowel and socket number 100. Particleboard was modelled as linear orthotropic material. For modelling SolidWorks Simulation 2011 package was used. Results shown that, increasing the number of layers increases the accuracy of simulation, and the model brings to the real density profile.
