Celem artykułu było omówienie jakości i doskonalenia na przykładzie przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego, zajmującego się produkcją użytko-wych wyrobów artystycznych. Przedstawiono proces produkcyjny w ujęciach technologicznym oraz przedmiotowym wybranego produktu, czyli uchwytu na kratę. Obliczono współczynnik czasu tworzący wartość dodaną, który wykazał, że w przedsiębiorstwie występują operacje, które nie tworzą wartości dodanej z punktu widzenia klienta. Przedstawiono mapę stanu obecnego przedsiębiorstwa, a także zaproponowano mapę stanu przyszłego z propozycjami udoskonaleń procesu produkcyjnego. Celem przedstawionej mapy stanu przyszłego było skrócenie czasu cyklu oraz redukcja kosztów, przy jednoczesnym zwiększeniu zysku.

The aim of the paper was to discuss the quality and improve on the production company example engaged in the production of utility artistic products. It was showed the production process in the technology and objective frame of the chosen product, the handle on the grille. Time factor was calculated that was creating value-added. Time factor showed that there occurs operations in the company do not create added value for the customer point of view. The current state map of the company was showed as well it was proposed future state map with the proposals of improvement of the production process. The aim of future state map was to reduce the time cycle and cost reduction while increasing profit.

Paper present impact of human resources issues as well as issues related to provision of medical services on leadership styles in hospitals in Poland. In this study a descriptive research design was used and a quantitative research was conducted, which was based on the so-called BOST methodology. Surveys were conducted among department heads of 10 public hospitals of various referral systems from the Upper-Silesian Agglomeration providing various types of medical services (which shows a large variety of research sample) operating in Poland. The research showed that both importance of service provision as well as human resources were not as important as they should be.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zagadnienia Czystszej Produkcji (CP) w aspekcie korzyści, jakie daje przedsiębiorstwu w sferze jego konkurencyjności, produktywności oraz efektywności. Obiektem badawczym jest przedsiębiorstwo będące liderem w zakresie Czystszej Produkcji – zakład cementowni CEMEX. Badania przeprowadzono w oparciu o analizę porównawczą zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa w latach 2008–2012. Wykazano, że substytucja paliw alternatywnych (wzrost o 43% w 2014 roku w porównaniu z 2010 rokiem) oraz budowa pierwszej na świecie suszarni paliw alternatywnych pozwoliły nie tylko na redukcję dwutlenku węgla, ale także na zmniejszenie zużycia węgla kamiennego, co w konsekwencji pozwoliło na odciążenie składowisk odpadów. Dzięki eliminacji części wody zawartej w paliwach alternatywnych nawet do 8%, redukcji ulega jednostkowe zużycie ciepła w procesie produkcji klinkieru. Wynika to z uniknięcia odparowywania wody w wysokich temperaturach. Analiza przedstawionych danych wykazała, że stosowanie CP nie tylko skutecznie chroni środowisko przez redukcję/minimalizację strumieni odpadów, ale również prowadzi do zwiększania zyskowności, produktywności, efektywności i konkurencyjności przemysłu, co w efekcie prowadzi do wzrostu gospodarczego. W artykule podkreślono, że cementownia CEMEX Rudniki dzięki zastosowaniu paliw alternatywnych w ciągu ostatnich 5 lat zaoszczędziła 132 000 Mg węgla.

The aim of the paper is to present the issue of Cleaner Production (CP) in the aspect of the benefits that it gives the company in the competitiveness, productivity and efficiency aspect. The research object is a company that is a leader in the Cleaner Production area – cement plant CEMEX. The research was based on a comparative analysis the company’s sustainable development between 2008–2012. It was shown that substitution of alternative fuels (an increase by 43% in 2014 compared to 2010) and the construction of the first world’s alternative fuels dryer enabled not only for carbon dioxide reduction, but also hard coal consumption reduction and as a consequence allowed to relieve landfills waste. Thanks to elimination a part of the water contained in alternative fuels up to 8%, the unit heat consumption in the clinker production process is reduced. This is due to avoiding evaporation of water at high temperatures. Analysis of the presented data showed that the use of CP not only effectively protects the environment by reducing/minimizing waste streams, but also leads to increased profitability, productivity, efficiency and industry competitiveness, which in turn leads to economic growth. The paper emphasizes that the CEMEX Rudniki cement plant has saved 132,000 Mg of carbon thanks to the use of alternative fuels over the last 5 years.

The article discusses the quality improvement concept in terms of companies’ competitiveness and its operations. The research object is a production company located in Silesia province. We analyzed the quality problems occurring in the company based on the selected quality management tools: Ishikawa diagram and the Pareto-Lorenz. It was presented and discussed basic types of waste occurring in the enterprise. It was proposed improvement actions and highlights the importance of immaterial resources - the company's workers.

The article deals with issues connected with the construction activity in Poland and the EU. The socio-economic development of countries depends on investment activities. Because of this, the construction sector which can attract investments, is widely regarded as one of the fundamental pillars of the economy. The growing demands for high quality construction products – with particular emphasis on their aesthetic and quality, as well as the dynamic technological progress – contribute to the increase in the complexity of the construction activities. This is visible among others in the area of organization and technology. The companies that are worried about the quality of their products and wishing to get a suitable place on the market are trying to get the appropriate marks and certificates confirming it.

As a rich source of substances which are necessary for proper development of body that meets energy needs, growth needs and control needs, bread represents one of basic food products of everyday diets that humans have used for many centuries. With increasing demands and expectations of customers, bakery and confectionery enterprises have to face the challenge of improving the quality of goods. This can be achieved with quality tools and methods. The use of these tools and methods allows for elimination of the identified inconsistencies in the product through determination of the causes of their occurrence and proposal of corrective activities. This study aims to indicated the most substantial quality defects in wheat challan through application of Pareto-Lorenz analysis. The Ishikawa diagram was prepared at the next stage. The diagram offers opportunities for indication of a solution that might contribute to liquidation of the quality defects found.

Paper deals with the motivation and motivating the individuals. It focuses on the investigation of flexibility which is the basis of effective influencing motivation and results in exploring various aspects of managing and motivating people, i.e. gender, age, education, and work experience. The methodological part is devoted to the presenting the most important results of questioning conducted in Polish and Slovak organisations that examined the motivation and process of managing the individuals’ motivation. The opinions of 1,946 Slovak and 1,736 Polish respondents show the motivation differs significantly according to the most studied aspects. Results confirm the need to pay attention to the sufficiently flexible and differentiated way of managing and motivating employees and managers.

Niniejszy artykuł dotyczy motywacji i motywowania jednostek. Skupia się on na badaniu elastyczności, która jest podstawą skutecznie wpływającej motywacji i skutkuje badaniem różnych aspektów zarządzania i motywowania ludzi, tj. płeć, wiek, wykształcenie i doświadczenie zawodowe. Część metodologiczna poświęcona jest prezentacji najważniejszych wyników badań prowadzonych w polskich i słowackich organizacjach, dotyczących motywacji i procesu zarządzania motywacją osób. Opinie 1.946 słowackich i 1.736 polskich respondentów pokazują, że motywacja różni się znacznie w zależności od najczęściej badanych aspektów. Wyniki potwierdzają potrzebę zwrócenia uwagi na wystarczająco elastyczny i zróżnicowany sposób zarządzania i motywowania pracowników i menedżerów.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is evaluation quality problems in the production company by using chosen quality management tools like Pareto-Lorenz diagram and control card. Design/methodology/approach: Researches were carried out by using traditional quality management tools. The paper concerns the analysis and research in the interdisciplinary field of production trends. Findings: The paper attempts to improve the production process of the given assortment group, which is a single hook on the grille exhibition. Instruments were used to analyse the process and the problem. Research limitations/implications: Research and analysis, have been limited in the field of production processes. The production process of a single handle on the lattice in technology frame was presented. Traditional quality management tolls were used to show the main problems in the company. Practical implications: Analyse the quality problems in the company is the main issue to the way of its improvement. It was stated that employees are foundation of the company so the investment in subordinates is an excellent treatment for increase work efficiency. It was found that the most difficult area to change is directly related to the people. Originality/value: Presented in this paper author’s opinion in the field of production trend is an original approach of the subject. It was showed that the company has a good chance of development.

Okres transformacji i związane z nim procesy dostosowawcze do nowych warunków wywołują zmiany w postępowaniu i zachowaniach rynkowych zarówno producentów, usługodawców, jak i klientów (pacjentów). Usługodawca nie zawsze może usatysfakcjonować pacjenta, ponieważ, w przeciwieństwie do usług rynkowych, kieruje się on zasadą PRIMUM NON NOCERE (po pierwsze nie szkodzić) oraz wyższością dobra pacjenta. Klient – pacjent korzystający z usług medycznych – oczekuje produktu zgodnego z parametrami, o których go uprzednio poinformowano, o powtarzalnym poziomie jakości. W artykule przedstawiono znaczenie relacji pacjent-personel medyczny w aspekcie jakości usług medycznych. Analiza zagadnień wykazała, że cały proces opieki nad pacjentem charakteryzować powinna świadoma orientacja na pacjenta, myślenie w kategoriach jego dobra. Strategię postępowania z pacjentem powinna cechować chęć autentycznego i uważnego wsłuchiwania się w jego „głos”.

The period of transformation, adjustment processes to new conditions cause changes in the procedurę and the market conduct of both manufacturers, serviceproviders and patients. The service provider cannot always satisfy the patient, as opposed to market services, it is guided by the principle PRIMUM NON NOCERE (first do no harm) and superiority the good of the patient. The customer - the patient usingmedical services are expected product in accordance with the parameters of which it previously announced, repetitive quality. The article presents the importance of the issues revealed that the entire proces of patient care should be characterized by conscious Focus on the patient, thinking in terms of his own good. Patient management strategy should be characterized by a genuine desire and to listen attentively to his „voice”.

W dzisiejszych realiach biznesowych satysfakcja i lojalność klientów oraz motywacja i satysfakcja pracowników firmy stanowią kluczowe elementy budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej na rynku. Głównym czynnikiem niezbędnym dla wypracowania satysfakcji klientów jest dobrze zmotywowany i usatysfakcjonowany personel danej organizacji. W artykule przedstawiono badania satysfakcji klientów wewnętrznych szpitala za pomocą ankiety BOST. Wykazano, że pracownicy są zaangażowani w sprawy szpitala, zatem można stwierdzić, że pracownicy są lojalni wobec swojego miejsca pracy.

The main aim of the article was to discuss the role of director and superior in the health care in Poland. Aspects relating to loyalty include both the situation of the Polish health care in terms of patients’ satisfaction (Servqual), as well as in the BOST method aspect. The Servqual results an analysis showed that, among 22 quality determinants 7 was rated highest. These determinants were following: the modern equipment, neatness medical personnel, staff involvement in the affairs of the hospital, taking care of the patient's opinion, politeness of staff, having the knowledge needed to respond to patients' questions, clarity of information materials in the field of diseases and drugs. The results of the research BOST however shown that asking for employees to express their opinions on various areas of the company increases their commitment to work, they feel noticed by someone express a hidden hope, resulting in their commitment to work and the quality of the product/service, at the same time a positive effect on loyalty to the hospital where they work.

Zarządzanie jakością jest szansą (choć nie gwarancją) na sukces firmy na rynku. Wzbudza zaufanie do szpitala, ponieważ dotyczy całokształtu jego funkcjonowania, a więc: doskonalenia struktury organizacyjnej, jednoznacznego określenia odpowiedzialności i uprawnień, określonych sposobów postępowania przy realizacji procesów, umotywowanej i świadomej załogi (odpowiednich zasobów ludzkich, tj. wykwalifikowanych i doświadczonych pracowników). System zarządzania w szpitalu powinien integrować strukturę organizacyjną, procesy, procedury oraz zasoby konieczne do osiągnięcia ustanowionych celów jakości. System taki musi zapewnić korzyści wszystkim uczestnikom, a więc udziałowcom, odbiorcom, właścicielom, pracownikom, dostawcom i społeczeństwu. W artykule przedstawiono procedurę i korzyści dla szpitala oraz pacjentów, wynikające z udziału w Polskiej Nagrodzie Jakości.

Quality management is a chance (although not guaranteed) the hospital success on the market. It instills confidence to the hospital, because it concerns the whole of its operation, and so improve the organizational structure, clearly identify the responsibilities and powers set out procedures in the implementation process, reasoned and informed the crew (appropriate human resources, ie. skilled and experienced employees). The management system at hospital should integrate the organizational structure, processes, procedures and resources necessary to achieve the quality objectives. Such a system must provide benefits to all participants, and therefore shareholders, customers, owners, employees, suppliers and society. The article presents the procedure and the benefits from participated in the Polish Quality not only to the hospital, but first of all to the patients.

Gradually was reduced an area of services reserved for the public operator and at the same time increased market competition. Opening of the market forced the Polish Post to face the market competition in all areas of its business. In view of these changes of particular importance becomes the need to adopt an approach aimed to meet the needs of consumers, in which the quality of the offer will be a priority item. The purpose of this article is to present the results of studies on the quality of the offer of Polish Post in the opinion of its customers.
