Translation of sentences by analogy principle

This paper presents a machine translation method based on the analogy principle, and an experiment in translation as well as its objectiwe evaluation. We first restate and generalize the original proposed framework called 'translation by analogy principle". Then, we build on the recent development of linguistic resources, namely bicorpora, and report on an experimentin translation using the method, its objective evaluation, as well as a comparison with other systems. We conclude by commenting on the characteristics of the method and put in into a more linguistic perspective.
