Szyny tramwajowe stały się znowu aktualnym problemem w kontekście integracji Rumunii ze Wspólnotą Europejską, gdy jako priorytet przyjęto odbudowę infrastruktury i nawierzchni torowisk. Podano podstawowe przyczyny zużycia szyn tramwajowych, dopuszczalne maksymalne ubytki oraz sposób postępowania dla ustalenia konieczności regeneracji szyn tramwajowych. Zamieszczono opis budowy urządzenia do automatycznego napawania szyn "in situ" metodą MIG/MAG oraz podkreślono zalety tej metody regeneracji torów tramwajowych.

Tram rails have become once again a live issue in the context of integration of Romania with the European Community where the restoration of infrastructure and rebuilding of road subgrade have been assumed as the priority. In the paper, the main reasons of tram rails wear, acceptable maximum decrements and the procedure for the statement of the rails regeneration necessity are given. The equipment for automatic MIG/MAG "in situ" surfacing has been described and the advantage of this method of tram rails regeneration has been accentuated.
