Cyclic variability of combustion process in spark-ignition (SI) engines, manifested by variations in combustion pressure near the peaks of pressure, is a long-term problem and a contemporary one. Coefficient of MIP (mean indicated pressure) variation is one of the most significant parameters of combustion variability, which affects the fuel efficiency and toxic components of exhaust gas emissions. In the paper, they are presented some of results, which are obtained from the research work of the hydrogen combustion in SI engine. The presentation of results is intended on the following areas: - Effect air excess ratio (lambda) on coefficient of MIP variation (VARpi) with hydrogen and CNG fuels. It was also watched behaviour of extremely lean mixture of hydrogen fuel. - Effect of rate of heat release (ROHR) on VARpi. ROHR were watched in different stages of burning with known parameters of heat release (0.5%; 5%; 50%) at equal VARpi for different hydrogen and CNG fuels. The priority purpose is to inquire, that VARpi, are caused by ROHR.
