Femur is the largest bone in a human. It connects the pelvic bone to the knee, and plays a vital role in carrying load, running and other physical activities. Its shape and contour is of prime importance while performing total hip or knee replacements. Three Dimensional (3D) image reconstructions of the Femur are essential for total or partial replacement procedures using artificial implants, crouch and gait analysis, kinematics of the knee and hip and other bio mechanical procedures. "Intelligent" materials and implants are being developed for knee and hip replacements and there is a demand for prototypes to be used as practice benches to check out interactions of the bone with the implant before the actual surgery. 3D imaging of the Femur is a difficult task due to its complex shape. It requires high skill levels, which, in turn affects the speed of reconstruction and limits the use of this technology. However, the thigh bone in a human, maintains its structural appearance, irrespective of heritage or size. This similarity facilitates use of various features of artificial intelligence for 3D image prediction. The reproductions using artificial intelligence will not require high skill levels as the difficult job can be executed by "Trained" computer programs. Such programs will not only be able to reconstruct bone images quickly, but it can also be used for prediction of structures in case of loss of continuity. This paper presents the current technologies used in medical imaging and proposes a method for integration of theories from artificial intelligence for rapid reproduction of the Femur.
