W dzisiejszych czasach logistyka stała się nieodłączną częścią prowadzenia wszelkich działalności gospodarczych. Trudno jest jednak wyobrazić sobie sprawnie działającą logistykę bez odpowiednio dobranych systemów informatycznych, wspomagających różnego rodzaju operacje, takie jak zarządzanie miejscem w magazynie, prowadzenie spedycji oraz wiele innych.

The concept of an intelligent enterprise as a result of the convergence of logistics megatrends

The convergence of logistics megatrends, including transformations in logistics models, the growing influence of modern, innovative and intelligent technologies, the use of ICT technology and global competition (e-trade and e-purchasing development, mobile services expansion) have led to a new concept known as the “Intelligent Enterprise”. This concept is a relatively young field in modern business management. As physical assets are given a digital voice, the Intelligent Enterprise allows businesses to run operations more efficiently and make better decisions with improved real-time visibility. Achieving greater enterprise asset intelligence offers businesses a sense of what is happening in their operations, provides them with a way to quickly analyse the information and gives them a platform to act on it to reach higher levels of growth, productivity and service. The aim of the paper is to describe of the concept of an Intelligent Enterprise and provide the specification of its characteristics. The objective is to be achieved through analysing the author's surveys results carried out in 2018. The studies were conducted on a group of 80 people – managers in manufacturing companies responsible for supply chains management.

Artykuł prezentuje porównanie dwóch rodzajów urządzeń do składowania towarów w przestrzeni magazynowej – regałów stałych oraz regałów przejezdnych. Publikacja ma na celu zestawienie parametrów, zalet i wad obu technologii oraz dokonanie analizy możliwości zagospodarowania hali magazynowej. Za pomocą studium przypadku zostały pokazane różnice w wykorzystaniu powierzchni oraz kosztach składowania, zależnie od zastosowanego sposobu przechowywania towarów.

The article presents a comparison of two types of storage equipment in a warehouse – selective racking and mobile racking. The paper aims to compare the parameters, advantages and disadvantages of both technologies and conduct an analysis of the possibilities of warehouse development. A case study shows differences in using storage space and in storage costs depending on the racking type.

The article presents a supplier selection procedure, which is one of the key elements of the whole procurement process, carried out in each business entity. Particular attention was paid to the regional aspect of the issue. It has also been presumed that in the case study, only local suppliers will be taken into account. Such assumptions (including close distance between potential supplier and a company) foster e.g. reduction of costs and delivery time, enhance all supply chain and enable implementation of modern management concepts. In times of strong competition, all these aspects have become particularly important. In the phase of computational experiments, which aimed at ranking and selection of the most desired supplier in the case study, multiple criteria ranking methods - Electre III/IV and Promethee II have been applied.
