Artykuł przedstawia zastosowanie obudowy kotwowej wykonanej z tworzywa sztucznego w KS „Wieliczka”, z powodzeniem zastępującej dotychczas wykorzystywaną stalową obudowę kotwową. Czynniki atmosferyczne, geologiczne, hydrogeologiczne i górnicze-geomechaniczne, które możemy zastać w wielickiej kopalni, sprzyjają zjawisku korozji stali, powodując zagrożenie bezpieczeństwa osób przebywających na trasach turystycznych i uzdrowiskowych.

The geological conditions of the deposit of “Wieliczka” Salt Mine caused that during it exploitation large excavations were created. So, there were a need to use steel anchor housing. In many cases, the steel anchor housing was spinned with shrapnel fragments and separations separating the salt layers. The analysis carried out in 2017 indicated, however, the corrosion of steel elements built in salt excavations and need for security. Corrosion is a phenomenon that cannot be completely eliminated, but can be significantly reduced. Degradation of materials and the environment due to corrosion can be effectively reduced by skillful prevention, mainly through the use of corrosion protection methods and the proper selection of materials. Additionally, the use of new materials, like glass epoxide anchors in the field of anchor housing in the historic “Wieliczka” Salt Mine, directly influences the safety of people staying in the excavations of the touristic and spa route and improves work safety. Moreover, design solutions in the application of anchoring casing slightly interfere with the appearance of the chambers themselves, revealing historical and utilitarian values in the way of chambers securing.
