Physical metallurgical and computer simulation methods were used to study the propagation and interaction of shock waves in steel balls subjected to convergent dodecahedrally symmetric shock waves. Conditions for energy cumulation and the realization of regular and irregular types of shock wave interactions were studied. Based on microstructural investigations of intact samples, the parameters of the shockwave loading, namely pressure, residual temperature, and the density of the material were calculated.
