The architect’s trace. The case of Przyszowa

The architect’s trace is what is left over in the natural and urban environment following the interference of architects – it is a trace after planned activities. To what extent are they beneficial to the current reality? Using the village of Przyszowa as an example, with documented historical heritage and significant urban values in the form of monuments of architecture and arrangements, an analysis of urban image values was conducted so as, to compare the benefits and losses resulting from the implementation of standard improvements and modernizations. At a time of desperate attempt at the protection of the instantly shrinking natural environment, we turn our attention to rural areas as the last bastion of the still-free living space. The need to care for its shape, authenticity, and quality is felt there more than anywhere else. It is architects and urban designers who should above all be responsible for the current state of things.

Ślad architekta – to pozostałość w środowisku przyrodniczo-urbanistycznym po ingerencjach architektów – to ślad po działaniach zaprojektowanych. W jakim stopniu pozytywnie wpływają one na bieżącą rzeczywistość? Na przykładzie sądeckiej wsi Przyszowa, o udokumentowanej spuściźnie historycznej i znaczących walorach urbanistycznych w postaci pomników architektury i ukształtowania planu, przeprowadzono analizę procesu dodawania i ujmowania wizerunkowych wartości urbanistycznych, porównanie korzyści i strat zaistniałych na skutek wprowadzenia standardowych usprawnień i modernizacji. W dobie dramatycznej ochrony kurczącego się nieustannie swobodnego krajobrazu przyrodniczego, zwracamy się ku wsi, jako schyłkowej ostoi jeszcze wolnej przestrzeni niezabudowanej. Tym mocniej odczuwamy tam potrzebę dbałości o jej kształt, autentyczność i jakość. To architekci-urbaniści w pierwszym rzędzie będą odpowiedzialni za bieżący stan rzeczy.

Żyjemy w krytycznym momencie zmian klimatycznych. Jedną z dróg poszukiwań zaradczych jest eksploracja i wykorzystanie luk urbanistycznych miast i ich niezurbanizowanego podziemia. Aby przywrócić równowagę środowiska, szuka się modelowego trójwymiarowego sposobu projektowania urbanistycznego. Jednak mimo wykorzystania doświadczeń pionierskich, każde rozwiązanie wymaga rozpoznania warunków miejscowych i dostosowania projektu do indywidualnych lokalnych potrzeb.

We are currently living in a critical moment of climate change. One of the remedial search paths is the exploration and use of urban gaps in cities and their non-urbanised underground environments. To restore the balance of the environment, a model three-dimensional approach to urban design is being sought. However, despite the use of pioneering experience, each solution requires recognition of local conditions and adaptation of the project to individual local needs.

Zmiana w postrzeganiu przestrzeni urbanistycznej prowadzi do konieczności tworzenia nowych opracowań prawnych, własnościowych, zabezpieczeń, kodyfikacji i komunikacji, również porozumień międzynarodowych, wymiany danych, wspólnych badań, dopełniających opracowań itp. – wszystkich o zasięgu globalnym, kompatybilnych i powszechnie zrozumiałych. Są one niezbędne do osiągnięcia globalnej równowagi środowiskowej i przywrócenia warunków życia.

Changes in the perception of the urban space leads to the need to create (global scope, compatible and universally understood) new legal, proprietary, security, codification and conduct communication studies, including international agreements, data exchange, joint research, complementary studies, etc. There is a necessity to achieve global environmental sustainability and restore living conditions.

Zakopane jest regionalnym miastem turystycznym unikalnym w skali całej Polski. Jedyny górski kurort o wyjątkowej historii i klimacie. Modne miejsce wypoczynku i wyczynu. Wymaga obecnie nie tylko troski o zrównoważony rozwój, ale naprawy zaniedbań i uzupełnienia braków wymaganych do komfortowego funkcjonowania oraz dopełnienia oferty zarówno użytkowej, jak i kulturalnej. Drobna w skali architektura Podhala musi sprostać wyzwaniom współczesnym. Uświadomieniu możliwości rozwoju tego miejsca sprzyja prezentacja realizacji podziemnych z całego świata jako jednej z dróg rozwiązywania problemów przeciążonych miast. Przykłady wskazują sposoby rozładowania presji potrzeb, a zarazem odciążenie naziemnego programu usługowego miast i zwiększenie zasobów zieleni.

Presenting underground projects from all over the world aids in raising awareness regarding the potential for development of the area, demonstrating one of the paths to solving the problems of overburdened cities. Examples show methods of relieving the pressure of current needs whilst simultaneously relieving the above-ground service programme of cities and increasing the amounts of greenery at their disposal.
