Possibilities of wood bonding with water glass. The article describes the results of measurements of bending strength, modulus of elasticity in bending and bond quality of three-layer beech plywood, where an aqueous solution of sodium silicate, cured with citric acid or sodium bicarbonate, was used as a binder. Studies have shown a lower bending strength and modulus of elasticity of tested plywood, compared to the samples bonded by melamine-urea-formaldehyde resin. Bonding quality of the tested materials did not differ significantly from MUF resin-bonded plywood.
