Purpose: The purpose of the article was to analyze and evaluate practices related to the recruitment process of temporary workers in enterprises in the logistics and warehouse industry (provision of services). At the same time, the aim of the article is to indicate the directions of actions in the field of the recruitment process that can be undertaken by the management of such enterprises in order to improve the quality of services provided by improving the quality of work. Design/methodology/approach: The study was preliminary and based on conducting a pilot qualitative study using the method of individual in-depth interview (IDI). The study covered the subject of the recruitment process of temporary workers in logistics and warehouse companies operating in the Great Poland region, and the subject of the study were the temporary workers themselves. The article presents the results of the study conducted among 25 temporary employees. Findings: The main aspects, covered in the study, regarding recruitment process are related to the way the recruitment meetings are handled, how the basing employment information are being passed to the candidate and whether what has been proposed is covered in the reality. As there have been gaps identified in those recruitment elements the author suggests some recommendations to the companies. Research limitations/implications: The presented results of the initial pilot study may be subsequently verified in the actual study. At the same time other human resources management processes, in the field of temporary workers, may be subjected to additional study. On this basis, it is possible to build a full picture of the practices used in enterprises, affecting the quality of work by temporary workers, and to indicate the directions of changes in order to improve the achieved results in terms of quality. Practical implications: The results of the study might be used by the companies interested in the form of temporary work and companies struggling with lowering quality of products or services as a result of employing temporary employees. Originality/value: As the temporary work in Poland usage is significant and increasing it is important to understand the factors influencing the quality of temporary employees’ work. This area has not been explored enough through research study.

Purpose: The main purpose of this article was to identify and analyze correction activities and corrective actions, taken by medical devices’ companies, as a result of a customer complaint. Design/methodology/approach: The article presents the results of the study conducted among medical devices’ companies, operating on the Polish market. These companies have implemented and certified quality management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 13485. In addition, these companies, as part of their activities, carry out various processes related to medical devices, but performing production process was the main criteria for qualifying the company for the study. On this basis, 209 companies, meeting these criteria, have been defined. The study was conducted using a survey questionnaire, available in electronic form. As part of the survey, 90 correctly completed survey questionnaires were received, what means that the response rate of surveys reached the level of 43%. Findings: The most important correction activities, indicated by the surveyed companies, include verification of suspicious products throughout the whole supply chain and replacement of a defective product with a new one. From the corrective actions perspective almost 70% of respondents indicated trainings of production employees. This is strongly related to the identified root causes, by these companies, as operators’ errors (50% of the causes lie with such errors). Almost 50% of respondents declared the update of work instructions as a corrective action, which is also related to the high number of indications for operator trainings. Originality/value: The article presents main activities, that are taken by the medical devices’ companies in Poland to increase the safety and performance of medical devices, if an abnormality occurs. The article may be treated as an benchmark for medical devices companies once reviewing their approach to implementing corrections and corrective actions.

Cel: Celem artykułu jest analiza wymagań w zakresie świadomości wpływu pracowników na jakość wyrobu motoryzacyjnego zgodnie z wymaganiami normy IATF16949:2016 oraz prezentacja i weryfikacja narzędzia służącego do sprawdzania poziomu tej świadomości. Projekt badania/metodyka badawcza/koncepcja: Stworzone przez autora artykułu narzędzie do badania poziomu świadomości wpływu pracowników na kształtowanie jakości wyrobu zostało zweryfikowane w badaniu ankietowym. Badaniem pilotażowym objęto pracowników, którzy w okresie przeprowadzania badania przebywali w przedsiębiorstwie i dobrowolnie wyrazili chęć do wzięcia udziału w badaniu. Wyniki/wnioski: W wyniku badania pilotażowego kwestionariusz ankietowy został oceniony jako czytelne oraz zrozumiałe narzędzie. W przedsiębiorstwie, w którym przeprowadzono badanie, można stwierdzić, iż występuje wysoki poziom świadomości wpływu pracowników na kształtowanie jakości wyrobu. Prawie wszyscy pracownicy objęci badaniem znają cele jakościowe przedsiębiorstwa oraz uważają, że ich praca ma bardzo duży lub duży wpływ na kształtowanie jakości wyrobu i procesu. Ograniczenia: Badanie docelowe, ukierunkowane na poznanie poziomu świadomości wpływu pracowników na kształtowanie jakości wyrobu, powinno zostać dokonane dla wszystkich pracowników, co może stanowić wyzwanie dla dużych organizacji. Zastosowanie praktyczne: Stworzone przez autora artykułu narzędzie do badania poziomu świadomości wpływu pracowników może zostać zastosowane w organizacjach branży wyrobów motoryzacyjnych, które chcą spełniać wymagania normy IATF 16949:2016. Oryginalność/wartość poznawcza: Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczno-praktyczny. W ramach części teoretycznej dokonano analizy tematu świadomości wpływu pracowników na kształtowanie jakości wyrobu. W ramach części praktycznej zaproponowano narzędzie do badania poziomu świadomości wpływu pracowników na kształtowanie jakości wyrobu, spełniając wymagania normy IATF 16949:2016.

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to analyze the requirements for awareness of employees’ impact on the quality of an automotive product and to present and verify a tool for checking the level of this awareness. Design/methodology/approach: The tool created to study the level of awareness of employees’ impact on creating product quality was verified in a pilot study. The pilot study included employees who were in the company during the study period and voluntarily expressed their willingness to take part in the study. Findings/conclusions: In the context of the pilot study, the questionnaire was assessed as a clear and understandable tool. In the company where the study was conducted, it can be concluded that there is a high level of awareness of the impact of employees on creating quality of a product. Almost all employees surveyed know the company’s quality objectives and believe that their work has a very large or large impact on creating a quality of a product and process. Research limitations: The target study, aimed at understanding the level of awareness of employees’ impact on creating quality of a product, should be made for all employees, which can be a challenge for large organizations. Practical implications: The tool created by the author of the article to verify the level of employees’ awareness can be used in automotive organizations that want to meet the requirements of IATF 16949:2016 standard. Originality/value: This article has a theoretical and practical character. In the theoretical part, an analysis of the subject of employees’ awareness of the impact on the quality of the product was carried out. In the practical part, a tool was proposed to verify the level of awareness of the impact of employees on creating quality of the product, meeting the requirements of IATF 16949:2016 standard.
