Several mathematical models describing liquid-solid equilibria were used to predict adsorption isotherms for an aqueous phase. The experimental data was correlated with the vacancy solution theory, exponential model and other mathematical models basing on the modified Freundlich isotherm. The data pertained to the removal of pesticides from wastewater originating from the pesticide waste dumpsite in Southern Poland. A static method was used for the adsorption of pesticides. Three models, namely the VST, exponential and Dubinin-Radushkevich can particulary well be used for the prediction of the adsorption efficiency of the selected pesticides.
