Electric or hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly common on roads. While electric vehicles are still more or less intended for city traffic, hybrid vehicles allow normal use due to wider driving range. The use of internal combustion engines in hybrid drives is still an inspiration to find the way to reduce the production of emissions. Numbers of alternative energy resources were studied as a substitution of conventional fuels for hybrid vehicles drives worldwide. The paper deals with the possibility of using alternative fuels as CNG, LPG and LNG in combination with hybrid drive of a midibus with the capacity of 20 passengers. Various aspects and techniques of hybrid vehicles from energy management system, propulsion system and using of various alternative fuels are explored in this paper. Other related fields of hybrid vehicles such as changes of vehicle weight or influence of electric energy sources on the total vehicle emission production are also included.
The efficiency of each drives is dependent on many factors. Hybrid drives and specially the drives of urban public transport may be affected by other factors given by transport infrastructure or operational conditions. These factors condition the suitable configuration of the individual elements of hybrid drive and the establishment of good control strategy of such drive. The study of influencing factors of the control strategy is the aim of this paper.

One of the most frequent topics of professional community is the ecology of transport. Different types of transport need individual approach to design suitable drive of vehicles. At design of public transport vehicles drives it is important to work with parameters close to the real conditions of using the drive or with real measured parameters. It helps to find the best conception of the drive and so reduce the consumptions of energy and the production of air pollutants. Energy intensity of the vehicle is usually determined on the basis of a driving simulation based on driving cycles for fuel consumption and harmful emissions measuring. These driving cycles are simplified and do not include the grading resistance, therefore, they are insufficient to determine certain specific conditions. Compilation of driving simulation based on real driving cycles measured during the vehicle driving in urban traffic seems to be more appropriate for specific vehicles, such as buses for public transport are. The aim of this paper is to show to what extent the use of standard driving cycles for the design of electric drives, respectively hybrid drives of vehicles, is consistent with real conditions.

The paper deals with the solution of the parts internal Stirling engine with an unconventional mechanism of FIK. I n order to increase its efficiency the internal engine includes the heat regenerator. I ts task is the accumulation of heat released from combustion chamber. I t is therefore necessary to consider its appropriate design and material solutions. This paper deals with the simulation of media flow through the regenerator made with Fluent software.
