The main purpose of dredging is to maintain the required depth of harbors and marine and inland waterways. Any investment work in port infrastructure should be planned in such a way as to minimize interference with the port operations and vessel traffic. The research aims to analyze work scenarios involving a proposed dredging fleet using a Navi-Trainer Professional 5000 navigational and maneuvering simulator connected to the Transas Navi-Sailor 4000 navigation information system. An analysis performed using these electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS) simulators allows the operational parameters of the dredging project to be determined. These parameters include driving time, time taken to fill a TSHD dredger to full capacity, scale of maneuverability of the dredger within the port area, and determination of the safe distance between dredging vessels and other ships. The proposed solution may be supplemented with additional computer-based programs, providing a valuable tool in the research and monitoring of planned and current dredging projects.

In this study, a comparative assessment of selected parameters determining the quality of rice transported by sea has been carried out. The aims of this process were to point out the differences between two types of rice tested immediately after their maritime transport and to compare these with a reference rice available in retail. Undoubtedly, the scientific achievement of the article is the demonstration of the possibility that the identification and estimation of the risk of lowering or total loss of quality (usability) of cargo are connected to its transport and related to the initial conditions. The analysis of the obtained results showed the existence of a sensitive dependence of the final state of the charge quality on the initial conditions, which is in line with the theory of deterministic chaos expressed as the butterfly effect.

The article discusses the effect of conditions during maritime transport on particular quality and safety parameters of cereal, in relation to quality management and logistics management. Therefore, transport requirements for cereal as a cargo were identified, and furthermore, threats resulting from improperly conducted logistic proces of bulk material with strong sorption properties were described. The aim of this article was to compare the differences in sorption properties between four selected cereal species using the static desiccator method. This method is the standard reference method. As a result of the conducted research, the existence of significant variability in the sensitivity to the effect of maritime transport conditions among cereal as a product group was identified. The most resistant to water vapor was rye grain. The differences between each cereal species should be associated with variability in the physical structure and chemical composition of grains of each individual cereal species. Further works in this area should take into consideration not only the diversity but also the variability of cereal sensitivity owing to the combined effect of relative humidity of the atmosphere and ambient temperature with use of the indepth thermodynamic analysis of sorption.

The paper presents assumptions related to the implementation of sustainable development in logistics, which result from the need to protect the environment which is subject to systematic degradation. The concepts presented in this paper are aimed to both reduce the impact of negative factors on the environment and optimise transport costs.The paper also discusses the topics of sustainable consumption and meat quality. Attention was drawn to the problem of animal welfare contained in the so-called ’5 freedoms’. Information on meat defects is also included, as well as information on livestock skin injuries and transport-related animal mortality. As a result of an analysis of literature on this topic, it was found that transportation is still extremely stressful for animals despite advances in transportation technology. An analysis of the collected material led to the conclusion that meat quality depends on many factors, with transport being the critical point that drastically lowers its level.
