Autor omawia problematykę asystencji wojskowej, czyli wsparcia władz cywilnych przez wojsko, w okresie II Rzeczypospolitej. Na podstawie praktycznych przykładów - wielu dotychczas nieznanych - opisuje zasady udzielania asystencji oraz lokalne rozwiązania odnoszących się do niej regulacji normatywnych i regulaminowych. Przedstawia składy oddziałów asystencyjnych tworzonych zależnie od sytuacji. Opisuje udział wojska w ochranianiu porządku konstytucyjnego państwa, w działaniach przeciwdywersyjnych, przywracaniu porządku publicznego, udzielaniu bezpośredniej pomocy Policji Państwowej lub wymiarowi sprawiedliwości, w działaniach ochronnych w czasie powszechnych wyborów oraz w wypadkach klęsk żywiołowych. W artykule są analizowane dokumenty z okresu międzywojennego udostępnione przez Wojskowe Biuro Historyczne - Centralne Archiwum Wojskowe w Warszawie.

This article discusses the issues of military assistance, i.e. army support for civil authorities, during the Second Republic of Poland (1918-1939). Based partly on earlier unknown practical examples, the author describes the rules of assistance and local interpretations of legislative acts and general military rules. Also, the structures of assistance units accepted in different situations, the participation of the armed forces in protecting of constitutional order, anti-sabotage activities, restoration of public order, providing direct help to the National Police or judicial units, and the protection of general elections and in the events of a natural disasters are all discussed in the article. It is then summarized by the conclusions that military assistance was rated for security and public order in Poland at the time. The article is based on the analysis of interwar documents stored in the Central Military Archives in Warsaw.

Autor omawia problem asystencji wojskowej, czyli wsparcia władz cywilnych przez wojsko, w okresie II Rzeczypospolitej. Pomoc ta była udzielana głównie w sytuacji zagrożenia bezpieczeństwa i porządku publicznego (np. podczas zamieszek) lub wystąpienia klęsk żywiołowych. Przedmiotem analizy są przepisy dotyczące asystencji, z wydawanymi przez władzę ustawodawczą włącznie, regulaminy i instrukcje ogólnowojskowe oraz lokalne regulacje, przyjęte w niektórych garnizonach i jednostkach. Autor wskazuje charakterystyczne cechy asystencji wojskowej oraz podstawowe zasady jej udzielania, zwraca uwagę także na zmiany wprowadzane wraz z wydawaniem nowych aktów prawnych. Przedstawia regulaminowe składy oddziałów asystencyjnych oraz wymagania w stosunku do wchodzących w ich skład oficerów i żołnierzy. W artykule są analizowane dokumenty z okresu międzywojennego udostępnione przez Wojskowe Biuro Historyczne-Centralne Archiwum Wojskowe w Warszawie.

The author discusses military assistance during the Second Republic of Poland (1918-1939). Military assistance is the army support for civil authorities provided mainly in the situations of threats to public safety or public order (e.g. riots), or natural disaster occurrence. The author focuses on regulations concerning military assistance, such as acts of legislative power and gereral military rules, and local garrison or unit's regulations. Various regulations are discussed in detail, characteristic for military assistance features, key principles and changes introduced by new law acts. The author also writes about the requirements placed on officers and soldiers of assistance units and about statutory structure of these units. The article is based on the analysis of interwar documents from the Military Historical Bureau of the Central Military Archive in Warsaw.
