W artykule zaprezentowano algorytmy energooptymalnego sterowania standardowym systemem HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) z recyrkulacją, odzyskiem ciepła (obrotowym regeneratorem energii) i chłodnicą suchą w obiegu recyrkulacyjnym dla pomieszczenia czystego ISO5 (M3.5, kl. 100). Wyznaczono roczne zapotrzebowanie na energię użytkową, końcową i pierwotną dla obróbki termodynamicznej powietrza i przypadku realnych obciążeń oraz parametrów eksploatacyjnych, a także dwóch wariantów sterowania: standardowego - wariantu I i energooptymalnego - wariantu II. Jako narzędzie analizy sformułowano model symulacyjny działania systemu HVAC w ciągu całego roku. Wykazano, iż wdrożenie algorytmów sterowania energooptymalnego (wariantu II) pozwala zmniejszyć roczne zapotrzebowanie na energię pierwotną systemu HVAC aż o 39,2% w stosunku do strategii standardowej (wariantu I).

The article presents algorithms of energy-optimal control of a standard HVAC system with recirculation, heat recovery (rotary energy regenerator) and a dry cooler in a recirculation cycle for a cleanroom ISO5 (M3.5, cl. 100). The annual demand for usable, final and primary energy was determined for thermodynamic air treatment and the case of real loads and operating parameters, as well as two control variants: standard - variant I and energy-optimal - variant II. A simulation model of the HVAC system operation throughout the year was formulated as an analysis tool. It has been shown that the implementation of energy-optimal control algorithms (variant II) allows to reduce the annual primary energy demand of the HVAC system by as much as 39.2% compared to the standard strategy (variant I).

Purpose: Nowadays environmental education associated with sustainable development presents a critical social challenge. The objective of this study was to identify and assess the interest in sustainable development, along with initiatives undertaken in this respect, by the students of selected university courses. The sample consisted of the students of management, who, due to the specific character of their education, will prospectively manage organizations or become entrepreneurs, i.e. will become responsible for setting the trends for the development of organizations. Design/methodology/approach: The subject matter of the present study pertains to environment-friendly attitudes of the students of selected universities in Lublin. The study was conducted by means of a diagnostic poll which was developed on the basis of the review of literature. Findings: The analysis of the results of the study revealed that respondents’ awareness regarding the impact of individuals upon the environment is strong. However, certain shortages were observed with regard to the impact of enterprises upon the natural environment. Research limitations/implications: It seems advisable to conduct this research also with students from other faculties. Practical implications: It seems advisable to commence environmental education during undergraduate studies so that students recognize the impact of enterprises upon the natural environment as early as possible. Originality/value: The article contains new research results about environmental education associated with sustainable development, which were conducted based on the self-developed questionnaire.

Purpose: The objective of the study was to identify factors determining the pursuit of cooperation between universities and enterprises, and to evaluate the significance of the cooperation in the regional context. Design/methodology/approach: Empirical studies were conducted in 2019 by means of a case study method. The review of literature and available documentation enabled an interview questionnaire to be developed. Individual interviews were conducted in May 2019 with several people responsible for university-business cooperation in Lublin region. Findings: The results of the study indicated a significant impact of university-business cooperation upon the development of the region. Originality/value: The subject matter of the present paper pertains to university-business cooperation in Lublin region. The region is relatively low on industrialization. However, due to several universities and colleges located in the region, strong academic potential is available.

W artykule zaprezentowano analizę zapotrzebowania na energię netto, końcową i pierwotną centrali klimatyzacyjnej z chłodzeniem jednostopniowym lub dwustopniowym w aplikacji dla bloku operacyjnego szpitala. Jako narzędzie analizy wykorzystano model symulacyjny działania układu klimatyzacyjnego w ciągu całego roku. Wyznaczono między innymi zapotrzebowanie na energię elektryczną dla wytworzenia chłodu w wytwornicach wody chłodzącej. Wykazano – dla studium przypadku, iż zastosowanie chłodzenia dwustopniowego w centrali klimatyzacyjnej układu klimatyzacyjnego, pozwala zmniejszyć zapotrzebowanie na energię elektryczną na wytworzenie chłodu o około 19% w porównaniu do chłodzenia jednostopniowego.

The article presents an analysis of the unit demand for net, final and primary energy for an air-conditioning unit with one-stage or two-stage cooling in an application for a hospital operating theater. As a tool in the optimization procedure, a simulation model of the air conditioning system operation during the whole year was formulated. Among other things, the electricity demand for cold generation in cooling water generators was determined. The calculation results for the case study show that the use of two-stage cooling in the air-conditioning unit of the airconditioning system allows to reduce the demand for electricity for the production of cooling by about 19% compared to single-stage cooling.
