Coronary artery disease (CAD) develops when coronary arteries are unable to supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart due to the accumulation of cholesterol plaque on the inner walls of the arteries. Chronic insufficient blood flow leads to the complications, including angina and heart failure. In addition, acute plaque rupture may lead to vessel occlusion, causing a heart attack. Thus, it is encouraged to have regular check-ups to diagnose CAD early and avert complications. The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a widely used diagnostic tool to study the electrical activity of the heart. However, ECG signals are highly chaotic, complex, and non-stationary in their behaviour. It is laborious, and requires expertise, to visually interpret these signals. Hence, the computer-aided detection system (CADS) is developed to assist clinicians to interpret the ECG signals fast and reliably. In this work, we have employed sixteen entropies to extract the various hidden signatures from ECG signals of normal healthy persons as well as patients with CAD. We observed that the majority of extracted entropy features showed lower values for CAD patients compared to normal subjects. We believe that there is one possible reason which could be the decreased in the variability of ECG signals is associated with reduced heart pump function.

We deal with the system of functional equations connected with additive and quadratic mappings. We correct some mistakes made in the paper [W. Fechner, On the Hyers-Ulam stability of functional equations connected with additive and quadratic mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 322 (2006), 774–786] and provide accurate statements of those results. Moreover, we get the improvement of the Hyers-Ulam stability result of the considered system of functional equations.

Content available On values of the psi function

In the present paper, values of the psi function for many arguments connected with the golden ratio and Fibonacci numbers are determined or given in alternative form. Moreover, some integral representation of the psi function is found. This is a potential calculation base of values of the psi function for powers of argument. We also note that this integral representation gives better numerical estimation of values of the psi function than the respective Legendre’s integral formula.

In the present paper we give some condensation type inequalities connected with Fibonacci numbers. Certain analytic type inequalities related to the golden ratio are also presented. All results are new and seem to be an original and attractive subject also for future research.

W artykule przedstawiono porównanie wyników ługowania chemicznego i biologiczno-chemicznego rud antymonu i złota Sb-(Au) ze złoża Pezinok (Malé Karpaty Mts., Western Carpathians, Slowacja) przeprowadzonego w tych samych warunkach. Wyniki badań przedstawiają kolejność i postęp utleniania zaprezentowanych minerałów rudnych (lelingit, arsenopiryt, stybnit, antymon rodzimy, gudmunit, bertheryt, piryt, sfaleryt i chalkopiryt). Wykazano różnice między ługowaniem chemicznym i biologiczno-chemicznym szlifowanych powierzchni wybranych minerałów siarczkowych. Efekty ługowania biologiczno-chemicznego minerałów siarczkowych są znacząco wyższe od wyników ługowania chemicznego bez udziału bakterii.

The article presents the results of the leaching experiments, the comparison of the chemical and biological-chemical leaching experiments with ores from the Sb-(Au-) base metal deposit of Pezinok (Malé Karpaty Mts., Western Carpathians, Slovakia) under the same conditions in solutions. The research study shows the oxidation order and the progression of presented ore minerals (löllingite, arsenopyrite, stibnite, native Sb, gudmundite, berthierite, pyrite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite). The differences between chemical and biological-chemical leaching activity of various ore minerals at the surface of polished sections have been discussed. The extent of the biological-chemical leaching of sulphide minerals is significantly higher than the chemical leaching of sulphide minerals without bacteria.
