The paper addresses the issue of the nature of the Online Transaction Processing system. The publication draws on interviews with experts specializing in these systems and makes a comparative analysis of two data processing systems. On this basis, the most important features of the OLTP system and the features of the data processed in it, the existence of which affects the efficiency of the business and social security, were collected. The publication also draws attention to key safety issues.
