Content available Strength analysis of an off-road lorry frame

The lorry frame is the main carrying part of a lorry, composed of several components. These components are connected by joints into one structural unit and it forms the lorry chassis. The contribution of this article is focused on thestrength analyses of a backbone frame, which is used on an off-road lorry chassis. Strength analyses are carried out utilising the finite element method. This article presents a created three-dimensional model of the frame and definition of boundary conditions (loads, the definition of degrees of freedom) needed for simulation computations. Results of the numerical calculations are the main parts of this article. Attention is mainly centred on the distribution of stresses of the frame under defined loads and its deformations.

Modernization of aged rolling stock is one of the possibilities to adapt it to the current requirements for better environmental friendliness and economy of railway transport. However, some vehicle upgrades lead to new failures that were not observed in the original vehicles. The cause is the so-called “hybrid design”, built on a combination of original and selected new components. The aim of the work was to improve the situation with frequent failures and unavailability that occur on the modernized locomotive where a new diesel engine and new electronic control system was installed. Within the work, a simplified methodology for evaluating the outputs of diagnostic equipment was developped based on and applied to specific locomotive type and its diesel engine. The methodology resulted in a significant reduction of the time for assessing the condition of the vehicle’s diesel engine and more effective maintenance. The paper also presents other possibilities in the analysis of big data in the maintenance of rolling stock e.g. using fuzzy logic.

In 2018, there was an empirical research conducted in passengers' interest in innovative methods of passenger handling within passenger transport in the Slovak Republic. The research determined the knowledge of passengers regarding new methods, namely, NFC technologies, EMV technologies and ABT technologies. The article defines the methodology of choosing an electronic payment system within public transport, followed by partial results of research multicriteria evaluation of alternatives electronic payment system in public transport. For evaluation of variants, an electronic payment system within public transport was the selected method of a total utility.

W artykule zaprezentowano analizę statystyczną związaną z naprawami układów bezpieczeństwa pojazdów komunikacji miejskiej. Zaliczamy do nich układy: kierowniczy, hamulcowy i zawieszenia. Badaną grupą pojazdów stanowiły trolejbusy użytkowane przez Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacyjne w Lublinie. Informacje o naprawach dotyczyły okresu od grudnia 2009 r. do marca 2012 r.

The article presents the statistical analyzes associated with the repair of selected vehicle safety systems of public transport vehicles. These include steering systems, brakes and suspension. The test group of vehicles were operated by trolleybuses from the Municipal Transport Company in Lublin. Information related to a period from December 2009 to March 2012.
