The aim of the study was to verify the effectiveness of decrease of odour production during sludge stabilization with selected groups of microorganisms in conditions similar to those occurring on sludge storage pads. The experiments were carried out on a laboratory scale; the biopreparation EM-bio was used. It was found that in anaerobic conditions, biopreparation modified biochemical processes in a small degree and decreases the redox potential. Clear decrease of odour noxiousness of the wastewater sludge for samples with biopreparation was not observed. In the continuation of these studies sludge processing at higher redox potentials should be investigated.

Przedstawiono ocenę stanu sanitarnego wody cieku zasilającego zalew i kąpielisko w Janowie Lubelskim. Wodę do badań pobierano z 8 stanowisk. W próbach wody wykrywano pałeczki z rodzaju Salmonella, oznaczano liczbę bakterii z grupy coli i coli typu kałowego, paciorkowców kałowych, ogólną liczbę bakterii mezofilnych (37°C). Analizując otrzymane wyniki, stwierdzono, że mimo obserwowanych wahań większości wskaźników, woda charakteryzowała się dobrą jakością sanitarną.

The paper presents the sanitary condition of water in the stream feeding the backwater with its lido in Janow Lubelski. Water for the studies was sampled from eight sites. In the water samples, the presence of Salmonella, the number of coli group bacteria, faecal type coli group bacteria, faecal streptococci and the total number of bacteria (TVC 37°C) were evaluated. The analysis of the obtained results demonstrated that despite the fluctuations in the majority of the parameters the water is of good quality.
